Siam Spicy — Restaurant in Peregian Beach

As a former resident of Peregian beach I thought I would to take a friend there for some dinner lastnight and we decided on takeaway. As soon as we went in to order a staff member at the counter was inhospitable and rude! (yes we both had our masks on) I had to ask for a menu, she just pointed to paper menus on the counter without offering. After ordering I politely asked if we could sit outside at the far end table while we waited (aprox 10 empty tables). She just gave us a blank stare without a word. Once at the table she came out and took all plates and cutlery away, again without a word. We took the hint that we were not welcome and went to the beach while we waited. I figured I could put up with the deplorable service if the food was good. How wrong I was!! If a 45min wait and $73 for only 2 meals wasnt bad enough the food was absolutely disgusting to say the least!! If we wanted watery slop that was 95% vegetables (mostly cabbage) we would have ordered soup! It certainly wasn't beef stirfry as I know it!! I am not one to complain but this experience left us with a bad taste in our mouths in more ways than one! Will never ever go there again and will never recommend this place to...

Local restaurant- all tables are located outside and a few located outside and out of sight of the staff.

The location we secured also allowed rain to sprinkle over the table and any one in that area, and then we had to move the table ourselves.

The location is next to the notice board and the post box.

The satay chicken were deep fried - not marinated and the satay sauce supplied was so little

The curry puffs were good, but again sauce supplied was minimal

The service was average and drinks were late and when remembered were incorrect

The mains were acceptable and reasonably fresh.

Overall, it’s a local Thai restaurant, the food was not overly Thai correct but was standard for a local restaurant

Don’t have high expectation- just expect the basics and enjoy its simple consistency.

We ordered Take Away the satay chicken and spring rolls ✔️ Mains beef in Ginger and shallots - virtually no flavour it was boring we dumped 70% in the bin. The beef had zero flavour just thrown in the wok with oil and water, it was bland, boiled beef, not a skerric of sauce, to flavour the meat!
