I’ve eaten at the Port Macquarie Domino’s Pizza several times, and unfortunately, every experience has been disappointing in one way or another. The pizzas are often smaller than advertised and generally lackluster. For context, I actually like Domino’s as a brand, but this particular location is consistently below the standard of other stores.
Recently, my partner decided to surprise me with a vegan supreme. As expected, it was a bit smaller, which I don’t mind. What I do mind is that both pizzas arrived with chunks of chicken on them. I only realised this after I had already started eating, because I noticed an unusual texture in my mouth. Having ordered here before, I honestly wondered whether it was some sort of mock meat.
This is completely unacceptable. I understand mistakes happen, and all I wanted was a replacement.
I called the store, and an employee named Jessy answered. After confirming there is no mock meat on the pizza, he asked me how many pieces of chicken were on it. He then questioned why, if I was really vegan, I had decided to eat it at all when there was chicken visible. This was not only patronising but totally inappropriate, especially since I didn’t know there was meat until I’d bitten into it.
Because I don’t have a car (which is why I ordered delivery) he told me I’d need to bring the pizza back as proof. When I explained I couldn’t, he gave me his personal phone number and instructed me to text him photos. I declined, saying I’d look for a more formal channel to resolve the issue.
It’s important to note, especially for anyone who is vegetarian or vegan, that his tone and attitude were dismissive and condescending throughout. Many vegetarians and vegans are probably used to this kind of response, but it reflects a deeper problem with the culture of this establishment and the level of care they put into preparing your food.
Please think twice before ordering here. If you do decide to eat at this location, I strongly recommend you check your order carefully before...
Read moreWe turned up to collect our meal on time. The digital board said it was ready, so we asked for it. The staff looked for the meal, couldn't find it and said it would be ready shortly. 5 minutes go by and our name disappears from the board, so we ask again for the meal. Again the staff go looking for it and can't find it, but assure us it will only be a couple of minutes.
We give it another 10 minutes, during which time we get to hear staff complaining about the hours they have to work and how other staff got to knock off early, as well as listen to staff trying to placate complaints coming in about delivered food - not a good sign. Asking for our food again, we again as assured it won't be long.
30 minutes after arriving a staff member seems to notice some food sitting on the table where it comes out of the oven, which they package up and hand to us. We ask if that has been sitting there this entire time, to which they just shrug their shoulders and offer a garlic bread as compensation.
By this stage we just take the food and leave. We get home to open the boxes of stone cold food, that is now essentially inedible.
As for the actual pizza dogs that dominos is selling, well they are simply the worst hotdogs in Australia. The sizes vary greatly, they weren't the ones we actually ordered, the kransky is about the size of a twiggy stick and the flavour pretty bad.
Dominos Port Macquarie, if you are going to staff your store with 14 year olds at least have Managers on to handle the problems that will no doubts arise.
The 1 star rating is because Google won't let me do a zero or neagitive rating.
Dominos Australia should be embarassed to have this store as part of...
Read moreGood pizza but a bit expensive during holidays as they add a surcharge. (the following is a reply to the response from the owner.) Well then why if we have to pay more for our pizzas at these times is the pizza quality suffering at these particular times? I have oft received pizzas that haven't got cheese or tomato paste to even near the edges of the pizza? By the time i get home it's too late to come all the way back into town to question this rather disappointing lack of even condiment spreading, and when I have noticed it and said something to staff they have apologized and said its because their busy or some other excuse etc etc. Only once have I ever been offered to have another made and that was when a supervisor heard and promptly got it fixed. I have seen and heard too many stories of peoples pizzas being spat on or having stuff dropped on the floor then picked up and put on the complaining customers orders and yes before you ask or say these are not true they are literally from the horses mouth from dominos workers and delivery drivers! Which only reinforces people to not complain!! UPDATE 10.06.22 their getting better slowly, but I stand and watch my pizzas being made so if I see anything off I let someone know...
