We had the most amazing morning perusing the 10 rooms and outdoor displays of the history of Port Macquarie. All the exhibits are professionally presented and the information about the articles use is very informative. The range of household everyday items is exemplary. Each room covers a different aspect of Port Macquarie's history, including the First Nation's People, the Convicts, the Woodcutters, the Sugar Cane industry, etc. There is even a street scene set up in one room with the convict bricks set in the different styles of bricklaying for that era. There are so so many details on everything explaining what things are from what time period, you can get lost in there for hours reading up about port macquarie's incredible history. $5 entry! $5 i can not believe it was that cheap to enter. Read moreWe were impressed. This museum looks small from outside but very large and plenty to see inside! We learnt a lot about the history of early settlement and their life. Very interesting. We had a family ticket for $15, which was not expected as we expected to pay for adults and children separately. The ladies at the front look like volunteers, they were very welcoming and friendly.
