Pipeworks Cafe — Restaurant in Port Macquarie

As locals who frequently pass by this café, we decided to give it a try due to its apparent popularity. Unfortunately, our first visit left us disappointed. Nevertheless, we opted to give it another chance, hoping for a better experience.

Regrettably, we were let down once more. The coffee tasted burnt, and the hot chocolate was watery and scaldingly hot, making it difficult to enjoy alongside breakfast.

I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich on Turkish bread and was taken aback when I had to purchase sauce separately. This seemed like an unnecessary expense. The bread tasted as if it had been thawed from frozen, and the overall meal was underwhelming for its price.

My mother ordered the frittatas, which also seemed thawed from frozen. Their texture was gluey, suggesting an excess of flour.

Rather unfortunately, I happened to go to this place on the 29th of December with my family and 2 young kids. We ordered Pizzas and drinks, and we paid at the counter as part of ordering. There was a lady at the counter who took our money. After we finished our meal, Jaskirat who I believe is the owner, charged the amount again to my wife claiming that the counter was closed. Unfortunately, I repaid the charges again (my memory that I did not check with my wife). Subsequently, I contacted the place and showed the bank statements which had two entries on the same day. The owner though polite, kept on asking for more and more details despite providing the bank statements. This is going on for the last 6 weeks and still haven't been refunded. My caution to anyone going to this place, the business has got low moral ethics who relish on cheating innocent customers. My first 1 star review and odd all about the service. I normally wait to have a meal before I write a review, unless the service it's so slow that I get bored enough. The service here is way too slow. They didn't appear particularly busy. OK, so been waiting for about 30 minutes and now they tell me they are out of rice which is part of my dish. Lol, if they had told me 20 minutes ago I could have nipped up the road and bought some for them. Now it appears I am having fries with my coconut prawns. Sometimes I wonder how theses places stay in business or how much they could make of they were run better. They also stuffed up the coffee order.
