November 2022 I came here with my family and friends for a birthday brunch and was grossly disappointed.

Dirty plates and the dusty industrial floor standing fan that faced our table aside - upon ordering a pizza, they later told us it’s still breakfast menu (3 minutes away from lunch menu), they then said all they can do is refund and for us to re-order…. We asked if we could just wait the 3 minutes to avoid the trouble and they said no lol so we obviously didn’t want to argue. So we ordered a breakfast pizza which we didn’t even enjoy, by the time the food came out it was already lunch menu anyway.

I ordered a chai latte but they brought me an iced latte which I had to send back, already feeling bad because by now we had sent back 2 dirty plates, asked for the dusty fan to be turned off or moved so it’s not directly blowing dust onto us and had the whole breakfast/lunch debacle.

It was terrible, we felt bad as all the servers were teenagers, we asked to speak to the manager about the pizza situation but our teenage waiter came back and was just playing Chinese whispers between conversations as the manager didn’t want to come out. We were also never refunded despite being told “it’ll take 2 business days”, they didn’t even take the bank card used to pay and said it would be automatic…. How?? It’s been months now and still have never seen the money.

In any case…. Definitely will not be returning. I feel really bad for the wait staff who are trying to get work experience and make some weekend cash… being managed by someone who has no clue! Having to sit through the complaints and things being sent back which I don’t believe is their fault, it’s poor management and training.

I’m so embarrassed to have brought my family and friends here. Will never be returning. Would’ve had a better...

We are Gladstone locals and have noticed an obvious shift in service and quality at Auckland House. in the last 12 months it has gone from great to very average... We went there for a lunch date last Monday and the waitress had to be reminded that the inside area receives table service... I ended up getting our drinks off the counter myself after watching them sitting there going warm and getting the flys drunk. I wanted to order the veggie schnitzel burger but checked with the waitress because last time I found that it no longer has the delicious schnitzel but now a veggie patty (still says schnitzel on the menu) that you can get anywhere at half the price! Burger Urge... So I ordered the vegan option of the Nachos and basically got a beef nachos with no meat or cheese and no extra toppings (hardly any beans or corn) that was drowned in some kind of rich sauce out of a jar... for $24! it was not nice. (Guzman Y Gomez offer delicious vegan nachos for less than half the price), we don't mind paying for quality, but resent paying for rubbish. My husband ordered the chicken parmy that arrived burnt, so he sent it back and we waited more than 30 min for the next one to arrive. They were apologetic and gave us our first drinks for free, but it meant our afternoon was cut short and we didn't eat together, how romantic! $66 later and feeling a bit ripped off.... Won't be rushing back there any time soon...Like I said, we don't mind paying for quality and service but right now I would rather get take away and sit in the park to...

We dined here last night, party of 6.

I wouldn't recommend this place as a restaurant. We didn't order any entries, main meals only. From ordering to service was about an hour, far too long a wait for less than average food. Seafood chowder was under seasoned and tasted like cream and nothing else. Mussels weren't washed and contained grit, couldn't find any fish in the dish. The seafood was cooked from frozen and I highly doubt it's local, appeared very much like a frozen marinara mix from the supermarket. The accompanying bread was in fact their garlic bread, not nice with a seafood chowder. Two of our guests had the beef burger, which was reasonable however the Pattie was again highly processed and appeared to be cooked from frozen, not fresh. Last meal type was the rump cap steak. Whilst it was cooked to the guests liking, their grill is running too hot and burning the steak, even on a medium rare steak.

On another note, the service was good and the staff were keen to help. It was disappointing we had to ask for cutlery, salt and pepper which should have been on the table when we arrived for our reservation. When setling the bill, we were unable to use a MasterCard gift card as they don't have the facility to swipe cards, insert or tap only.

The location here is great, it's too bad the restaurant doesn't live up to...

Ok so we went out for dínner we booked in advance we told them over the phone that we need table inside they said ok. We turn up and they wanted to put us outside . We told them we booked inside and that's not acceptable and gave us slight attitude we insisted to stay inside . Well there is a reason why we rang them in advance and told them we want inside why gives us attitude cause they made a mistake. But anyway it happens. The service from the girls in general was great during our meal there except for one who was there at the beginning when complaining about our seating preference. Since then she was rude until the end . Wow ok. Then the meal ...I had steak for dinner it was not great . It was chewy as hell very average you would think paying high 30s for the meal you would at least get a half descent 300g steak . My father had fish also average . The others had the pork belly it was pretty good apparently so thumbs up there. The atmosphere however is fantastic and had live music too as the sun went down really nice. I was sad to have this bad experience this time as few months back when we were there again we went for breakfast and we had pleasant experience then and food was also very nice at that time . Maybe go there for breakfast instead 🤷🤷

Lovely waterfront location beside the yacht club. I could see the kettle and fermenters sitting under cover, but yet outside. Had to stop and get a beer or two, whilst watching my companions with a blueberry cheesecake from the big desert fridge display, chai and coffee. The beer: a wonderful fragrant nose that was undeniably floral but not overwhelmingly so. A great body that retains the head for quite a long time. Smooth balanced flavor - light citrusy hops that are balanced by a mouth-watering biscuity malt flavor. A beautiful expression of this style, the lady Elliott island IPA weighed in at abv of 6.0 on this brew. 10/10. Bought a takeaway growler after a chat with the nice young chap serving me, who's moving to Niagara Falls from this subtropical paradise. Good luck to him.

My wife and I often joke if it wasn't for the outlook Auckland House would go broke. Service unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired even when you sit in the designated table service area. That and the lack lately of their own in house brewed beer are my only two complaints. Situated on the waters edge at Auckland Point there really is no other venue in Gladstone that can better the view and afternoon vibe that Auckland house delivers in spades. Picture this, Saturday or Sunday acoustic live music, friends, sun setting in the west, drink in front of you as you watch the coal/LNG carriers cruise passed. Fav beer- Heron Hazy (if available) Best dish- I've never had a bad steak here. Pizza is also on point.
