a cozy restaurant in a good location. was it the best and most authentic mexican? definitely not, but the lovely and attentive staff, good drinks and atmosphere make this place good. the entrance was a little confusing as there is a big menu facing the waterfront in front of a door, but this turned out to be the back of the restaurant and you enter from the side. the inside is cozy, but the seats were honestly pretty uncomfortable. lovely lighting and the staff were welcoming, extremely attentive and quick to take plates and offer drinks, and it was an overall pleasant experience. the food was okay, the ceviche was not a very pleasant flavour in my opinion but the tuna tostadas were good. the tacos however were a big let down. the tortillas were extremely dry, crumbly and cold and honestly ruined the nice tasting fillings for me. i understand they are gluten free, but i have had decent gluten free tortillas and these didnât live up to those at all. the tacos were all cold which was fine, but they would have been nicer if particularly the fish was warm as they did not taste fresh. the quesadillas and grilled gem salad were much nicer however. the âtres lechesâ dessert is certainly not a tres leches, and there was barely any cake in the dessert and it was mostly custard with a nice brulee. the flavour was nice, but it definitely felt lacking. the drinks were good, great beer selections and reasonably priced. overall it was a nice place for a semi-casual dinner, but i am not rushing back...
Read moreA fantastic lunch in Bandita, a Mexican inspired bar and restaurant on the Noosa River. First impressions did not disappoint; an idyllic location which was only enhanced by the outstanding warm and friendly staff members who greeted us. Every member of staff was so welcoming and asked us how our day was going. If I could give 6 stars for service, I would! We got seated at a lovely, large round table al fresco with plenty of room for our fur baby under the table! She was asked if she wanted water! On the food front, every dish we ordered was simply exquisite. My prawn taco with lemon myrtle, chilli, bbq mango, mayo and lime was so delicious. I also had a fish taco with bbq snapper, achiote, onion and cucumber, chipotle mayo and lime which was superb. The chicken quesadilla was equally fantastic and the fried wings and reef fish ceviche was mouthwatering and scrumptious. Fresh and tasty and not ridiculously overpriced. This place is marvellous and hands-down one of the best meals and indeed best service we have experienced in our time in Australia. 100% recommended - definitely a place not to be missed if you're in Noosaville. Oh, and the margaritas are gorgeous!Thank you to all the team [front and back of house] at Bandita. We...
Read moreHighly disappointed coming to this restaurant tonight, it was my nieces birthday and we had never been here before. Upon arriving it looked lovely and we had nice friendly service with smiles but unfortunately it was very much downhill after that, the drinks were a bit expensive, the touché is a soda water with hibiscus, mint, a lot of ice and no alcohol, was $11. We found the menu confusing and the prices were very high. We ordered and the waitress informed us that these meals on the menu were all share meals as they are very large but when they came out to the table, I was shocked as the plate is large yes but the food portion is so small, it looked ridiculous, it cost us $95 to eat three tiny tacos each (the tortillas were the size of the bottom of a coffee mug) the Lamb was chewy, raw and flavourless, the chicken was flavourless and for three people this was not enough for us as she stated. We spent over $400 and there were 9 people and we were so starving when we walked out. It had me feeling less then impressed and I do not recommend this restaurant and I do not think it will last with their prices, quality, quantity and the ignorance of the manager...
