Barbeques Galore Cairns — Restaurant in Queensland

Please see Helen Goodyear’s receipt. Without the assistant manager he helped my mum so much. Nina the so called manager, kept stuffing her up her order. Helen went in there for an $800 bbq and kris then sold her a $2000 bbq and an extra roasting tray, pizza tray and a outdoor setting. The outdoor setting was on sale. Helen told Nina she didn’t want one that was the demo, Nina assured her that there were two out the back in boxes and that she would put Helens name on one. When it came to pick up Nina “forgot” to do so and tired to give her the floor stock, however the floor stock was broken. Helen also asked for the extra items she had paid for but they were also sold on her when Nona promised her they would be put aside. Very poor service by the so called manager. I wouldn’t let her be a check out chick at Coles let alone a manager at a fantastic outdoor centre. If anyone from management is reading this please call Helen Goodyear herself and she will tell you everything. The other staff is great. Evan has been helpful for our extra needs with my Traeger and information with cleaning it. I’ve been in the store recently and Nina totally avoids mum and myself as she knows what she did was wrong. Although I don’t shop there often, in the past I’ve received generally good customer service. However, on 29/4/2025, this was not the case. The shop appeared empty of staff or customers, so I called out into the back room and a staff member apologised for being on the phone there. I said I needed to refill or replace my gas bottle. He then walked to the counter and said he needed to fix something up at the cash register first. Then another staff member, whom I hadn’t seen, asked him to serve me first. His attitude then changed, saying to his apparent supervisor that the customer didn’t even say ‘please’. He asked for my money up front, which was fair enough, but then filled my gas bottle without saying a word. When I thanked him, he muttered something under his breath and didn’t even make eye contact. I left...

Went to top up half full gas bottle before travelling to more remote/expensive places in caravan. Guy (slender, middle aged with a pony tail... Shouldn't have trusted him on this alone!) told us he would charge 1/2 price as only topping up. At check out he charged full price. When I queried he said till wouldn't allow him to do it 😳 If he told us that in the first place we wouldn't have filled the bottle! We had to pay as the job was already done 😡 Avoid this store for gas...
