One of my favourite coffee spots in town.
I remember when it was just the outside area and now I'm so happy that the cafe has managed to grow! I like the atmosphere and service the most.
There is a certain modesty but also liveliness with all the greenery and art around the place that makes even going alone for a cuppa really relaxing. It's got a really nice intimate vibe, with the music playing in the background, which is nice if you're going on a date for example. (For those who want to see the real birds, they're around the back of the outside area before you head to the toilets)
I also can see that the people there are genuinely hospitable. I remember once, our orders got mixed up, and the server was very apologetic about it (I think all that happened was the order went to the wrong table and that table just redirected it to the right one). I think mistakes are bound to happen and anyone can just say sorry, but sincerity is another thing in hospitality.
And of course, the coffee is great! And from the lines of people who come just for takeaway coffee, it seems like I'm not the only person who thinks so. I haven't yet tried the food, but I'll update my review when I do.
I'm not sure how many people are aware of this but also there's a 10min parking spot in front of the shop, so you can easily get in and out for that coffee-to-go.
Highly recommend this place for: locals, as a little getaway for yourself or for your friends visitors, for a good...
Read moreYesterday my husband, the two kids and I went to Birdies expresso for lunch.
It was our first time visiting and we’ll definitely be back.
What a gorgeous and relaxing atmosphere, the dining area at the back of the cafe was a beautiful surprise.
The food and drinks were served with a smile in the relaxing shade of trees… Excellent service.
The music was peaceful and the kids loved seeing the birds… We definitely enjoyed ourselves.
It’s a beautiful place to take some time out and to relax.
The ham, cheese and tomato toastie was delicious and my pink flamingo drink was refreshing, very nice.
My 3 year old son said yummy to his toastie and strawberry shake and my 9 year old daughter has asked to come back, she did not want to leave this place. She also loved her toastie and caramel shake.
My husband has Autism so he doesn’t like to go out, I encouraged him to go with us yesterday and let’s just say that he loves Birdies expresso. He loves how relaxing it is and how beautiful it is with all the trees around us and the peaceful music. I’m happy to report that he definitely wants...
Read moreA nice little niche cafe, good coffee and drink selection, pleasant garden vine type settings or clean spacious inside tables. The food seems carefully made, is generous enough, interesting in variety, made to order, well presented, and quite tasty. The prices are very fair in light of the quality, more so than some places. The staff are mostly young, and appear to be getting tutored in good old fashioned customer service & manners. I think this is a credit to them & the owners, so well done. One downside to this business- it regularly closes with little or no notice, or the hours can be quite erratic, changing without warning. It isn't unusual to find a little handwritten note in the window saying "closed for 2 wks", or "closed until further notice". Perhaps that's a product of the owner wanting to remain hands-on for his customers. That aside, we think overall it's good, & like to go there...
