As I walked into Blume, a hidden gem nestled in the charming town of Boonah, I could already sense the warm hospitality that awaited me. I was immediately greeted by the welcoming staff, who exuded an air of genuine passion for their craft. They carried themselves with a finesse that was reminiscent of the best establishments I've had the pleasure of visiting over the years.
The dining room had an understated elegance, with a perfect balance of intimacy and sophistication. As I took my seat, I couldn't help but notice the tantalising aromas wafting from the kitchen, a seductive tease of the exquisite culinary adventure ahead.
The menu was a testament to the chef's creativity and dedication to sourcing the finest ingredients. Each dish presented a harmonious marriage of flavours, textures, and presentation. It was an absolute delight for the senses. As I savoured every bite, I couldn't help but appreciate the artistry and technique that went into each creation.
Throughout the lunch, the service remained impeccable, with the staff attending to our every need with such professionalism.
As the meal ended, we were presented with a stunning piece of art that had been painted at the bar whilst we dined. It was a beautiful, tangible memory of the unforgettable lunch, a token that spoke volumes about the dedication to the overall experience at Blume.
In the past ten years, I've had my fair share of exceptional dining experiences, but Blume in Boonah has etched itself into my memory as one of the best. The restaurant's unwavering commitment to culinary excellence, the genuine warmth of the staff, and the delightful surprise of the art handed to us at the end of the meal, all culminated in a symphony of sensations that left me utterly captivated.
For anyone seeking a dining experience that transcends the ordinary and ventures into the realm of the truly extraordinary, I cannot recommend Blume highly enough. It is a must-visit for all food enthusiasts who appreciate an establishment that caters to not only the palate but also the...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to go here, as we had heard amazing things about the food. I had written prior to our booking that neither of us eat seafood and whether it could be replaced with a non vegetarian dish. I was informed that there was plenty of meat on the menu. First course was a tomato consommé which was very small and quiet tasty. Second course was a large piece of bread served with a capsicum spread, butter and 3 pieces of salami. The bread was good, but very disappointing as a course. 3rd course was a corn fritter, this was very small, flavors were good, but this should have been served with something. 4th course was a seafood dish which we requested no seafood, instead we received a large piece of cabbage grilled with a sauce on the side. This was really disappointing considering we gave plenty of notice that we could not eat seafood. 5th course was a small piece of lamb shoulder, broccolini, jus. Cauliflower with a small amount of sauce was served in the middle for us to share. No spoon for this so it was hard to get any sauce at all. 6th course was a deconstructed pavlova with gratin. Drinks list was small with no wines under $100. Overall the whole experience was disappointing and not worth over $300. Our inquiry for a non seafood course was not met, as I had previously written and the restaurant had assured me that there would be a protein replacement. We were happy not to go if this request...
Read moreJack Stuart and his small Blume team have done a wonderful job of creating a stylish and welcoming environment. The calming, minimalist decor is very sympathetic to the era and character of the historic building. The tastefully painted timber and ornate pressed tin of the walls and ceiling, along with the heritage skylights flooding the interior space with bright daylight for lunchtime service do the talking for the decor. And with even the crockery handmade by one of Jack's family members, it speaks to his dedication to creating a unique dining experience using the finest of Scenic Rim produce in an innovative and surprising degustation menu. The food was excellent and the wine list is a discerning mix of local, national and international selections. The township of Boonah must be very proud that one of their accomplished sons has returned to put the town on the map for destinational dining, and is helping to cement Boonah's burgeoning reputation as a 'foodies' shopping paradise for Scenic Rim local produce and great regional shopping hospitality. If you're heading to Boonah to dine at Blume, go while the Butcher and Veggie shops are open and take your esky. Even the local IGA supermarket is worth a visit as a great example of how grocery retail should support regional produce and consumer...
