Boonah Tavern — Restaurant in Queensland

Four of us went here for a Father's Day lunch. None of us had been there before, so had no idea what to expect. There was a good variety of options available for most. My only slight criticism is that they only have 1 vegan meal on the menu. Don't get me wrong I do understand you cannot possibly cater to everyone all the time & Vegan/Vegetarian is not the focus for this venue, however another option that was perhaps Vegetarian that, with a small alteration could be Vegan would have been great. This is not an option I require, however my youngest, due to food intolerances & allergies does. Aside from that, the food we got came out much quicker than anticipated, especially considering they were busy, & was good. The salad could be a bit better, only lettuce & carrot, but it did seem fresh. There was live music which was very nice & suitable for the time & type of day. Used to be my favourite pub until tonight, the bar staff there are arrogant and rude, mrs asked for a cocktail list and was told “yep it’s the orange thing over there”, after asking how far away our food was an hour after ordering, which was no drama just wondering as it was a birthday with cake to come out, the lady was quick to shut us down and said “well you were the late ones”. After I said something to my girlfriend, the lady behind the bar jumped in and said “you got a problem”, conversation had nothing to do with her I said nah just wanted a beer and she proceeded with “yeah right”. if you don’t like your job don’t take it out on the people that spend money there, she was very arrogant and rude and if we weren’t waiting for our meals I would of walked out, guy with the pony tail behind the bar continued to walk away whilst we were waiting at the bar, I don’t mind waiting but when you look and see people there and turn your head doesn’t sit well, wouldn’t recommend...

Well first off we ordered T-bone steak and pork chops from Bly to get to the counter and be told no t ones and no pork chops. So we ordered calamari and cheese and bacon bread as entree and fish mains. Well it all arrived together with no time to consume or enjoy or “limber” up for the mains. Music so loud that we couldn’t have conversations. Then the owner comes out trying to buy off my review with offers of free drinks, followed by every reason they were pumping the meals out do fast. Biggest day, too many customers, done over 300 plates etc. Used to be my go to in Boonah, changed hands and now I think I’m looking for a new go to place.
