We were told the goods were fresh. The lamination was DRY as sin, the chocolate eclairs did NOT TASTE BAKED TODAY, the spinach triangle was stale and cold, the square meat pie had mince tasted bland and the pastry stale. The lady serving was lovely and the shop was beautifully decorated absolutely pretty but I don't reccomend it for the food (as nice as the food does look). Sorry just being honest.

Great example of a country bakery. Locally prepared products (great range) using local ingredients. Best fresh cream jam and cream donut I have had in years. Sausage roll was legendary also. If you are anywhere near Boonah stop in. The staff are very friendly too!

For some reason, dad, and by extension every aussie man, love bakeries. There’s an incredibly rugged patriotic aesthetic to the ‘country bakery’. The food is expected to be fresh, homemade and handmade. And for that matter, it may be; I’m not one to tell. Nevertheless the family, of 2 that is, raves on about the sausage rolls. Dad is sitting there stuffing his face, blabbering ‘oh you’ve got to try some, you just have to go get something’. His standards must be low. Because I’m an obedient son and because we drove all the way out here, I go inside and pick out some desserts. I was nonplussed, nothing out of this world on either end of the spectrum. The caramel slice was very rich and basically just a blob of, well, caramel. The hedgehog was a little repetitive at every bite, becoming a chore to get through, and the raspberry coconut slice, slightly dry. But to my hungry self, it filled the spot and did the job, which I suppose is all aussie men care about. Staff were...

Service was great and the bakery is quaint with lot's of historical knick knacks around the place. My wife ordered a meat and vege pasty and said it was tasteless and the pastry had a peculiar smell. I chowed down on a curry pie. From the first bite the pastry just had an unpleasant flavour. I struggled to get through it and this was a first. We then shared a vanilla slice with passionfruit icing. I'm sorry to say that this was probably the worst dessert we have ever purchased at a bakery. The custard middle was so hard that we could have bounced it off the floor like a tennis ball. It was inedible. We both enjoy visiting bakeries as a treat but we both left this one feeling short changed and very...

We’ve been here a couple of times now and tried a few different sweet and savoury items. The meat pies are quite good, tasty and well filled but the pastry is not as good as some other bakeries we’ve tried. It seems a bit heavier and more doughy. The fresh fruit tarts are our favourite with a nice crunchy pastry, smooth custard and nice fruity tang. The claim by the owner that everything in the display cabinet is made with “Fresh Cream” seems a bit suspect to me, the colour is too starkly white and the texture too firm and silky, but you can judge...
