Boonah Motel — Hotel in Boonah

I have been a loyal guest of the The Boonah Motel in Boonah for many years, returning annually from when I moved away from Boonah in 1999, up until 2019, to the town where I grew up, to reconnect with my roots and share memories with my son. However, under new management since my last visit, my recent experience has been disheartening. Due to an unexpected medical emergency (I have terminal cancer), I was hospitalized and had to cancel our trip. Despite my long-standing patronage, The Boonah Motel refused to offer a refund or alternative solution, demonstrating a lack of empathy and customer care. I would like to acknowledge that Booking.com, the booking agency, has been exemplary in their efforts to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, their attempts have been hindered by the new management's refusal to cooperate, even disregarding Booking.com's suggestions as well as lying about contact made by my sister who was acting on my behalf to cancel the booking as I was unconscious in the emergency department. Arrived with 7 other friends, on paying the bill I was charged $540, so I asked them how much they all said $435, I asked the person in the office she said that's what you pay when booking with Expedia. When I arrived home, I rang Expedia they told me they ring the Motel & $540 is the quote they received. So the review for the motel was not good. Next the motel rings me & said that is the price I was quoted, I said I travel extensively & this has never happened. The guy then said I have obviously not travelled...

My fiancé and I stayed at Boonah Motel for one night in preparation for a friends wedding nearby. I was impressed with the 12.30pm check in which allowed us to check in earlier without paying for an extra night.

Upon arrival, the man at reception was friendly and easy going (what you would expect in a small town) 😃

The motel room was clean and tidy, newly renovated with modern facilities.

For the ladies, if you need to get ready the room has a decent mirror and lighting!
