Commercial Hotel, Boonah — Restaurant in Queensland

Wasn't what we were expecting from "The Commercial"... We thought it would be pub grub, hoping for even a Sunday carvery 🤤 menu was predominantly thai with some pub feeds and pizzas. All good, we love thai food! Husband ordered the Thai Wicked wings with thai chips- not sure what was thai or wicked about it...wings were crispy hot and fresh but covered in large amounts of salt and dried chilli. Chips were crinkle cut, so still no idea what Thai chips are! "It filled a hole!" To quote my husband who is now very, very thirsty despite knocking off as much salt as he could. Unfortunately not the experience we were expecting? Rib fillet was riddled with grizzle. The bugs n bull was not really an acceptable level reef n beef at any number of pubs with a lesser advertised food experience and the Pot Pie was unfortunately a lot of pastrie with very little filling. The Pork Shoulder was also very dry. We entertained friends from Brisbane and reading the reviews were expecting to showcase a great night out in the Scenic Rim, but unfortunately the meals did not add to the experience. We have a tradition of a beer and a burger as we travel around to the various country town but we usually share the burger as it is too much for one each. In Boonah today and we stopped off the at the Commercial for lunch. I ordered the burger and was chatting to the waitress about our tradition and as usual forgot to ask if they could cut it in half and bring a second plate. When the meal showed up not only had they cut it in half but it was beautifully served up on two plates with the chips split in two baskets, one on each plate. Now that is what I call service.
