Stopped in while on a ride for lunch today. Nice place, great food and service. The wait and counter staff were awesome. The star is for them, although they deserve all five.
The boss guy on the other hand needs to chill out. His rudeness and continued aggressive manner were a downer on what is a rare treat for us. If he treats customers this way, I shudder to think how he treats his staff. The experience would have been really lovely had he not charged up on us in the street as we were settling into our seats outdoors. I have no issue with what he was trying to tell me, however to be spoken to as I was, when he didn't even bother to stop striding past us as he machinegunned his 'message', was completely unacceptable under any circumstances. Then, shortly after as I was looking for a bathroom in which to wash my hands after grabbing the edge of the table and finding a nice, wet gob of chewing gum under the tabletop, I was snapped at as if I was a trespasser. Clearly he was unaware that we had already ordered and paid for our meal before any of this occurred. Might I suggest a course at peopleskills school for this guy, as he has no clue about customer service. And yes, I've read a few of his replies to negative reviews. Who knew? I'll take my fifty bucks elsewhere if I'm looking for food in...
Read moreI’m yet to try some stellar country food, prove me wrong I guess. There’s a table of about 20 ‘80 year olds’, better than 80 ‘20 year olds’ I suppose, but nevertheless it speaks to the type of people out on a Monday afternoon at Flavours Cafe. I grab a lamb wrap to go, thinking it’d be an easy thing to get right. The staff were all lovely, pretty faces at the front and working arms at the back, rhetoric carried over from every eatery in existence. I stowed the lamb wrap, which was ready in a comfortable 6 minutes, to my car so I could eat it in a quiet and intimate environment. The thing is slopping and slipping everywhere, dripping with the juices of a pre-made mixture. The lamb was clearly cooked a while ago, and a bit on the tough side. Which would maybe, maybe, quizas, be acceptable if the wrap wasn’t $20. A wrap is something anyone can make, so I can’t justify that price knowing I have the same kitchen talent as an actual chef. After a few bites, the wrap was well within my stomach and I was only left with the mess down my hands. The whole thing was just a bit depressing, the lettuce was a little wilted and the salad just resembled your usual burger throw-ons. I appreciate the effort but it’s...
Read moreWe stopped for a quick lunch on our country drive on the weekend. The cafe is in a great old building. Service was very prompt and very friendly. We had a sarsaparilla, and an iced coffee with cream and ice cream - both fine. I ate the club sandwich and he had the corn and zucchini fritters - which were more like a pancake, but still tasty. I even took half my sandwich home as it was very generous and delicious. We also had sweet potato wedges with sweet chilli sauce and sour cream (just needed a bit of salt). Also very generous; we took half our small serving home with us. Air con inside, tho we sat on the front verandah. Hubby said the toilets were clean and large. The owner had a nice chat with us as we left. The cafe was filling up by the time we left; obvs. a...
