My husband and I booked a table for my birthday celebration on a Saturday night. We were seated at an inside table and as it was quite noisy I politely asked to be moved to a table on the verandah which was efficiently and politely provided From there all went badly downhill. It took more that half an hour for a table wait staff t after being asked, to come across to take a drink order, an hour before anyone took our meal order and from the time of our arrival at 6.30 an hour and an half before our entree arrived (at 8.00), unfortunately COLD. We asked it to be sent back and heated up and eventuatly after30 min later it was returned to us bearly warm. At this time my husband had to continually remind staff of further drinks orders which seemed to be forgotten. Finally my husbands main course of the duck breast arrived and again it was underwhelming, very disappointing. By now I decided to finish the evening by ordering coffee for my husband and myself, which again never arrived. We will never go back obviously and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The excuse given was that the restaurant was very busy on the evening REALLY!!! A professionally run very well established restaurant should, you would think, provide for a level of staff that could cope with a normal volume of 'booked' clientele. Read moreEdit for owner - no, I left straight after as I had a phone call about my daughter being sick. But it's not how I "feel" about the portion sizes. It's just how it is with your restaurant. And that's fine, but I'm putting pure warning out there for people that are not used to paying $43 for a meal the size of two grapes. As I said, was lovely tasting, but was extremely tiny for the price, and 2 others had the same sizing. So, it is purely just how you serve your customers their meals. But they are definitely not whole beef cheeks. They are more around 1/3 of a whole cheek. As you would see, I like to review where I have been on a lot of places, and I give good, honest feedback which has helped thousands. Its nothing personal, just advising of the sizing. Three stars- These are for customer service, taste and the lovely young girl/waitress who made me feel normal when questioning the cutlery. But the portion size was dismal. I expected small, but this was really tiny. Three of us ordered the beef cheeks and none were happy with the sizing. Mine was smaller than a golf ball and held up by sauce. I paid $43 for this. I put my fork there for comparison of size, but the photo doesnt do it justice on how tiny it really was. Read moreOver priced under achieving food left us leaving hungry and getting takeaway else where. no real identity to the restaurant, left the food lacking clear flavour and imagination, clearly a very old played out menu created by an uninspired chef. argumentative staff giving poor service leaving a very stale and awkward tension lingering in the air, in what was an already mediocre uninviting atmosphere. poorly uneducated bar management resulting in expired beverages making it to the table only to be told by the server that we didn’t know what we were talking about. After asking to see the bottle of spirit that was poured Into the glass to check the date on it the waitress who happened to be the owners wife told us that it didn’t have a date of batch, so we pointed out the date to her and some factors that resulted in the gin Shiraz being off, as it was over two years old and why it had turned bad. I suggested she throw the remnants down the sink and charge it to wastage before another guest was given an expired beverage, She rejected our claims. I declined to inform her of my experience in the industry as a fine dinning server, sommelier and distiller. She then decided to palm us off to a younger female who was much more pleasant and polite and bubbly.
