Emerald Golden Dragon — Restaurant in Queensland

I agonised whether to write a review or not. But after the lingering taste of old cooking oil is still in my mouth, I thought it best to provide an independent assessment of my experience. The restaurant presents nicely enough; it’s clean, well lit and the gentleman serving was very friendly. I was welcomed by an ‘all you fill’ (container) food-trough. The food indeed looked tasty and the range extensive. I packed my container with a little of most dishes, thinking I would enjoy the different flavours front the orient. I got my little container back to my motel and tucked-in after a quick re-heat in the microwave. I’m not going into a diatribe about how ordinary the food was, but… if you like your food cooked in old engine oil, ‘meat’ that might be chicken, pork or beef and dishes that taste like they’re old enough to vote - this place has got you covered! Passing through Emerald I chose this cafe over the other one listed because its last review a month ago said there were new owners and the food was good. While the owner (?) was very hospitable and the food looked delicious it was somewhat bland, eg, like they’d adapted it to the Australian and/or Emerald taste buds. As I sat in and ate it was a revolving door for the locals getting takeaway. I was surprised to see a lot of deep fried items, even dim sims, no vegetable dishes and the boiled (?) chicken used in the chicken & veggie dish was uneatable. Decided to try Chinese in town Emerald Golden Dragon Filled my takeaway up with a variety of food and as I went to pay rude chinese lady says you cant just have meat. I said why I dont like the vegetables she said you cant. I had maybe a spoon of meat extra I added at the end. I said you have no sign up saying that I told her she was rude and she said I was rude.
