Compliments on the impressive food display cabinet as you enter the venue, which shows additional options to the menu. Was greeted with "what can I get you?", when I appeared confused, I was asked if I would like to see the menu and dine in or takeaway. Unfortunately, no smiles, or at least no genuine smiles in my 40 minute visit until I left. As I looked around, staff seemed unhappy all around which is sad to see. Lady who served me (I took as a manager) was shocked when a young girl didn't take a tray of dishes back to the kitchen, and she voiced it to her colleague (perhaps something that should be done behind closed doors). Small latte size for dine in appears to be slightly too big but tasted good. There was no basic pattern on top. Thick butted toast was hot, and muesli with fruit and yoghurt were fantastic. Nice vibe and appears to always be busy as they appear to be the only high rated (4.6 on Google) cafe in Gladstone. Some improvements on professionalism, customer service, and smiles might get this cafe to 5 stars.

What a fantastic cafe, very popular with the locals here!! A fresh, trendy, feeling cafe on the inside with nice music playing at an enjoyable volume that you can enjoy but not have to shout at your companions. Plenty of tables and chairs for larger groups to solo diners..A few tables outside too. Food has a great variety, loads of healthy options and a decent variety for us vegetarians! The breakfast I took tasted fantastic, it wasn't on the menu but they made it to order which shows the versatility and willingness to satisfy awkward customers like me!!.. A decent portion size was also presented so you won't go away feeling hungry after a trip here!! Drinks has again a large variety from Bunderbergs to smoothies to lattes.. the coffee I took was again a very nice coffee for my pallette. All staff were super friendly and helpful which added to the appealingness of this establishment.. It's a fantastic little cafe that I will definitely be using again and worth a visit if you are in Gladstone!!

Newly moved to Gladstone. Found this lovely place based on reviews and it was delightful. Very clean. Air conditioned and stylish interior. The staff were all very pleasant. The savoury muffin that’s made in-house is very good. Definitely recommend pairing it with the tomato chutney (exceptional) and sour cream option, and make use of the fresh coriander garnish - it works wonderfully together. Coffee is mellow, and the milk was spun perfectly - the barista knows her craft. Be aware that this particular cafe uses different ratios of their shots based on the drink ordered. So just ask if you like yours stronger. Equal to anything I’ve tried in large cities. Will definitely return and bring friends.

I ate here about a year ago, I was with my wife and kids and decided to have brunch, called my sister and asked her and her husband if they would have brunch with us. I was in woolworths and purchased a iced coffee milk and walked across the road while drinking the iced coffee milk.

I hadn't quite finished my milk when I got to the shop, I went inside the Cafe with my iced coffee an sat down. Meanwhile my sister invited her daughters family. It took a while for us to order and get a meal, I had a cappuccino and a big breakfast and we had a nice family brunch, I don't remember if I thought it was good or bad, most likely it was OK.

You probably know where this is going. As they were collecting our dirty dishes a woman muttered under her breath about no outside food or drink in the Cafe, loud enough that several people heard it.

I saw the sign while entering the Cafe and if they had said no we will not serve you, I would have gladly then my Gathering somewhere else. But to wait till we had spent hundreds of dollars on food and drink and then complain about it afterwards, well, they made sure I would never visit their Cafe ever again.

I write this review now a year later because I went out for breakfast again this morning and every time I think about it. I think that I will never darken...

Bad things come in 3's - I don't live locally so I purchased coffee here based on recommendations. I should have gone with my gut and walked out when it took (3) times waiting for the customer service team to do their job, serve the customer.

It took (3) of them fussing over some front counter fridge food before I could get through the awkward as heck first impression. Making the order was a lil painful, I thought it was my problem with the specifics for flavour, temp etc. Coffee chemistry. I enjoy nice coffee, I have worked as a barista and appreciate what it takes in the hospitality industry. When I took the first sip I knew I'd wasted $16 (strike 3). Where's the love? :( It tasted like hot almond milk without a care. I thought it would improve with time as it sat, it didn't. I couldn't toss it it was like envisioning pouring gold coins into a drain way and no way was I coming back to deal with those people at the front counter.

I get it you're closing at 3pm. It was only 2pm but it felt like everyone was just watching the clock. Hope my $16 bucks didn't go to the person who served me directly.

Loved the window and location/ 'street' view as a positive aspect...

The hotel where I stayed recommended this place, I am now at odds whether I should have listened to their advise. The wait time was very long, they asked us to sit, so we sat, waited for quite a while, noone came to take the order, so I went up the counter to ask when we will be served, she said I should order at the counter... why couldn't you tell me this, why asking us to sit? I began ordering, the lady (waitress, in her 50-60 maybe) began writing my order, I stepped away to ask my son what drink he wanted, which was literally at most 10 seconds, I turn around - the lady was gone, and the new customer is standing there placing an order with another waitress. I line up in a cue, as by this stage more customers walked in. What a mess! The order took ages! I get it, they are busy, but could prioritise is given the troubles we had to endure already.

The food was just ok, nothing extraordinary, coffe was nothing special. I don't know the town that well, but perhaps this place was suggested by overall town's standards, perhaps others are much worse...

All in all the time spent witing around was about an hour.

Id probably get Mecca's next time...
