We had a nice night out at Headricks Lane celebrating my wife's birthday. It has a pleasnet atmosphere but it was a cold wet night in Rocky so you needed soemthing warm to wear. On a hot summers night it would be ideal. The menu was varied and had some interesting items on it. We had the Kangaroo and camembert for entrees. The Kangaroo could have been a cooked just a little bit more, just a bit on the rare side for me. The hummus combinationwas an interesting blend of flavours and an added itm to out home cooking now. Add a little diced feta and perfection. The camembert was very tasty and the home made crackers excellent. For main we shared a medium rump and the potatoes. The rump was cooked perfectly and had a nice level of fat in it. Potatoes were perfect. The juniper berry jus was exceptional and a must try. For desert we had the Milo brûlée and the cherry ripe ice-cream. Th presentation was beautiful but neither of the desserts worked for us. Overall we enjoyed our night out and if you are looking for fine dining in Rockhampton this is by far your best option. We will go back again before we leave.

The vibe of the restaurant was lovely. Suitable for both gatherings and romantic dates. Food was not too bad, but I felt I had better wagyu steaks before. What was disappointing was the service. First, I asked for the wine to be chilled, but somehow the restaurant did not have an ice bucket for wine chilling. Then, the service was so slow. We sat near the kitchen and the kitchen kept buzzing the servers to clear the counter and bring the food to the tables. Last, our table waitress had forgotten to key in our wine, which caused a delay when we were footing the bill. Will I come back again? Maybe..

the service was not fantastic. It took someone over 30-40 mins to come and take our first drink orders. The food was average, ordered the duck and for some reason there was a random bone left on the dish (no meat was attached to it) The $6 salami for a side for the bread, was essentially just Don salami, dumped on the plate straight from the packet? For spending over $400 for a dinner of 7, this was disappointing and won’t recommend to anyone

We attended about a week after it reopened. The Italian(?) guy manning the table allocation was absolutely hopeless. We're reasonably well spoken, but he couldn't grasp anything we asked throughout the night. We like to have a tap beer when going out, but after considerable confusion it turns out that the boutique brewer has none at all. So, we ordered bottled beers by pointing- then he brought only one. We ordered food, again by pointing, and still he just couldn't fathom what we wanted, and answer any food queries- forget it!! So while we're waiting, our glasses are sitting there empty for 15 mins whilst he stood at the till sipping a coke through a straw, & scrolling on his phone- his mentor had long since left him to it. I went & asked him "can we please have some service?" and ordered more drinks. The kitchen & wait staff were very busy and on the ball, but his front counter/drink service/ordering completely let them all down. We had 2 other separate groups of friends there that night, and it turns out we all had the same experience. And the prices- just horrendously expensive for what was actually very mediocre fare. We had 1 small entree, the 2 cheapest main meals on the menu, and 4 beers- $160!!! God knows how they can justify their price structure- if you want sides it's $12 for chips, or broccoli or asparagus, & $8 for a really lousy salad. Again our glasses were left empty, so we didn't make the effort to spend any more money- we just finished up & went to the club for dessert and drinks. The food selection is quite limited & poor in view of the prices. It's vastly overpriced, terrible table service, & unaffordable unless you're a cattle baron or businessman with a gold-plated credit card. No way we'd recommend it. We'll monitor the reviews & see if...

Decided to try Headrick's Lane for dinner Thursday 29th June. Upon arrival had to guess as to who were staff and who were customers. Worked it out by assuming those behind the counter were staff. Both of us ordered the wagyu rump, medium rare, with sides of chips. The wagyu was cooked appropriately but had rested for so long it was only just warm. One of the sides of chips was piping hot while the other was only just warm. We informed the waitress of the situation and she offered to correct this but did not explain how this would be achieved. The white wine we ordered was delivered ice cold. It took time and the warmth of our hands to bring this wine to a more appropriate drinking temperature.

I would suggest that staff be in uniforms or more forward in introducing themselves. Introducing themselves to customers with their first name would be a great start. As to the food - the apology from the waitress was well delivered. She could have explained what would happen next - freshly cooked meals, microwaved or reheated - we could have decided from these options. We decided to accept the meals as presented but did not appreciate the expensive wagyu as we would normally. No offer of complimentary food or drinks or a discount were offered. Headrick's Lane is quite expensive but does not have the service to support the prices, yet. Improvement is needed before we...

I really should have waited to have written this review until I finished my lunch here because it was such a let down since the first time I was here. Originally I was going to give this place 5 stars, then 4 stars, but ending giving Hendricks Lane only 1 star.

My first visit was absolutely amazing for dinner and a great atmosphere with my partner, but this lunch was horrible.

For this lunch I ordered a large coffee, extra strong, and usually I do not need sugar for any coffee. The staff were super nice and welcoming. The coffee came out and looked awesome, well presented and was also the perfect temperature, but it was so incredibly burnt that even after adding two sugars it still was unfinishable, tasting like nail polish remover.

For this same lunch I ordered the Atlantic Salmon with chips and some greens, which looked nice on the menu. However, the fish was soaked and too moist, still enjoyable though, just not the quality that I expected for such an expensive price. At the end of this meal I found two hairs in my meal, a small one and a long hair one in my food, so definitely worse to worse for this lunch today.

Even with the hairs in my meal, I am such a coffee guy that the coffee was the biggest let down.

First experience for dinner here 4.5/5, however the lunch was so increasingly awful as a whole that I can only give Hendricks Lane 1/5...
