We dined here for my 10 year old nieces birthday. For most of us which was quite a large group, this was our first time experiencing Hog's breath.
And boy was it a night!!!
Upon sitting down we were given numbers to stick on our hands. (Their idea) To proper allocate drinks, food etc.
So. First bone I'd like to pick... Is with Rachel. You brang our 2nd round of drinks to the table, approached me (I wasn't the host) out of everybody asking if they were mine. I said I'm #17 I have the bottled coke. Didn't give me my coke, just stood there looking around the table. Whenever she did speak to me there was no kindness or any form of life behind the way she spoke. Not even a lil smile. THEN as my friend said "the big coke is mine" you had told her you been 'yelling out for agessss' which would've been fine it's just the way you said it. Like c'mon. đđžââď¸
Second bone, is the fight!!! The table near us had broke out in a pretty intense brawl 4+ really big men in the middle of the entry. All the kids were distraught, crying and scared. The birthday girl actually wanted to leave. We understand that this was out of the staffs control, besides the point we weren't reassured, apologized to. Nothing, not until they wanted our info which was 30mins after our meal.
Third bone, food came out inconsistently (this is what the numbers were for) had two people still waiting for meals whilst most of us were finishing up.
FOOD WAS OKAY. 4/10
For the prices of food we paid tonight, also for our first ever experience. We will not be returning.
Max our server was lovely!! The only good thing about tonight. Tbh. If I could rate...
Read moreWe came here a year ago whilst on holidays and thought weâd try again despite the disappointing food and service. Never should have given it a second chance, wonât be coming back ever again. Service was bland and like they didnât want to be there. As soon as we sat down the table was sticky and disgusting. Your elbows, cups and menus just stuck to the table. If thatâs what the tables are like what is the kitchen like.. I ordered a water and it tasted like it was an unwashed cup previously used for a customers coke drink so it had faint taste of coke. So gross. The sharing appetizer was small and just weird flavors that donât go together, no side plates were given, had to ask and they were filthy. Even the replacements didnât look much cleaner. Ordered a salad as my main meal and it was tiny!!!!!! probably 100grams of chicken, Iâve never ordered a chicken salad and not gotten a full breast before. 3 pieces of corn kernels, 9 black beans and the tiniest sprinkle of quinoa. Just pathetic sizing. Main meal plates looked dirty again.. all grimey. People need to realize youâre spending money on a meal and deserve a good meal and experience. Overall a restaurant where you can tell all the workers just donât give a crap about anything, but itâs clearly coming from above if a manager doesnât care why would the workers put care into their workplace and customers experience. The photo doesnât even do it justice how small this salad was but the fact the chicken was nearly the same size as that...
Read moreMy daughter and I recently visited HOGâS BREATH CAFE for dinner whilst on holiday in Hervey Bay. We ordered the âTriple 3â special which included crumbed steak, buffalo chicken wings and curly fries. However we only both partook in the steak. On the way home we both felt weasy in the stomach and by 1am we were both violently ill for the next 24hours from the steak. Obviously this was on special having reached its use by date as we did notice the restaurant was almost empty and would suffer from turning over its produce. We rang the owner the next day to let them know the meat was off and we were ill. We were met with a robotic, scripted and defensive, well learnt dialogue for deflecting complaints of this nature. This included knowing what we had for breakfast and lunch that day, told to go to the hospital and get paperwork to bring back to her as we probably only had indigestion. I soon realized she was simply building a defense case against us. We were on holidays and due to leave that day, so this was not on the agenda. At no point was there any empathy or I am sorry to hear that instead I was constantly addressed as âmateâ every second word , totally unprofessional in itself and given the circumstances I was clearly not! Hogs Breath? Maybe Hogs Food would be more...
