Joey's Mission Beach — Restaurant in Queensland

Went there for breakfast. There was no GF options. We ordered smashed avocado on sourdough and 2 rounds of ham and cheese toasted sandwiches with one orange juice and one apple juice. At one part of our wait we were the only people there. When the Spanish backpackers turned up and a couple of other people. They got drinks and food within 5 minutes. We waited an hour for drinks that were the same as the backpackers and food came 15 minutes after the backpackers had eaten. I have never experienced Agist discrimination before and it was unpleasant. We were treated so bad and no apology given. We were not rude. we had simply orders. we knew there were orders in front of us but to be served 90 minutes after such a simple order and fitting in with what food ingredients were available...

We ordered two coffees at a time when the store wasn't very busy. 15 minutes later, we were still waiting even though people who rocked up later than we did got their coffees before us. When I asked what was going on, as we had to return to the skydiving shop for our jump, the barista became extremely rude and demeaning towards us. He showed appalling behaviour and continued to berate us after we said we'd take a refund and be on our way. I had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered. The service was extremely slow, which I could have tolerated if the staff had at least been kind — but unfortunately, the opposite happened.

The attitude of the person serving us was shockingly rude. I understand that people can have a bad day, but that’s never an excuse to treat paying customers with disrespect. The way they responded to us was unprofessional and downright unpleasant.
