Metro Hotel — Restaurant in Queensland

First of all, I went without a booking a table with my two 9-year-old children. I ordered the rump and ribs; my daughter, the fish and chips; and my son, the steak and chips, plus a cob loaf to share. I also ordered some cocktails. Honestly, the staff were amazing and friendly. The food was simple but so good—the best steak, ribs, and garlic sauce I have had in a long time. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the cocktails were yummy. The staff didn't make it feel like a dingy pub, more like going to a family's house for dinner. Even though there was a very large party ahead of us, the food came out promptly. The waitress even remembered my comment about not being able to eat it all when the food first came out, as the portions are very generous. Just been there, was wrongly charged for the beer that was advertised for $4.50, and then was told by the bar maid - "that's the old price" another gentleman at the bar said to her "well you should charge what you advertise" she said "do you want me to get the manager" she was quite rude, so we said "OK" he came and said "that's Happy Hour price only" we were not happy with his tone so sat down. When our meals came we politely asked the waitress the managers' name, she told us. It was only a matter of minutes before he came over to our table and aggressively said to us - "arguing over 40 cents are we when you have $10 meals, and my name is over the door. The only saving grace for our visit here was the staff behind the bar, she was really friendly but the rest of the evening was dire.

We came on the bingo night and ordered food, a group of around 12 of us ordered and only around 4 actually enjoyed their meals.

My chicken parmi was luke warm at best and most of the chips burnt.

My partner ordered a burger and again was luke warm and tasted strange.

One of our friends ordered the nachos which had barely any meat with it and no flavour.

Two others ordered the chicken schnitzel which again had zero flavour.

Others had problems with temperature and flavour of the meal.
