4/5 Have stayed here twice in the last year. On entering my room on the first visit I was quite disappointed with the balcony view of the tin roof but was very very pleased to be transferred immediately to another room with a lovelier view across the hallway at my request. The view made an absolute difference to my stay and the fact my wish was respected without hesitation made my decision to rebook when I revisited Bundaberg so much easier. My second visit was wonderful. Although I had upgraded since the first visit the view of the river was absolutely to die for and the spa bath.... OMG!!! Amazing. The room was lovely, clean, comfortable and well worth the extra money. The only qualm I had was the lack of and difficult access to powerpoints in the room. The most important powerpoint had to be accessed via crawling under the heavy desk and even then... 2 points does not suffice given I needed to recharge my laptop whilsts still requiring use of the microwave and kettle at the same time. The kettle in this instance had to be plugged into the bathroom.... which seemed to me a little unhygienic. This I believe needs to be addressed but on mentioning this to the receptionist at checkout she did advise they were planning to install a powerpoint gadget that will sit on the desk. Excellent idea because elder folk could find crawling under a desk rather difficult and thus affect their decision to rebook here. With that said.... I've rebooked again for later in the year and plan to take with me an extension lead and double adapter lol. There's always a way hee hee. Mossies were a tiny thing this second visit so perhaps keep this in mind and come prepared. Will have been a 5/5 if not for the powerpoint situation. Overall.... best place to stay outside of Bargara. PS The guy heading to clean my room on checkout was so friendly despite me letting him in a round about sort of way to expect a bit of a mess lol. Anyway... was a great stay. Highly recommend and if unhappy... stay something but be pleasant about it. Don't go away disappointed. I could have but saying something gave me a whole new experience and I could...

Read moreFortunately I checked the room before unpacking. The smell of sewage coming up from the shower drain was nauseating and a glass had not been washed as there was sticky residue in the bottom. The young woman on reception was professional and treated me with respect. On letting her know, she quickly organised another room for me. Unbelievably it was worse than the first one. The sewage smell was not as bad but still notable, the room had not been cleaned properly. Sticky food/drink marks on the dining table, kitchenette bench and cupboards. Black greasy dust on tops of kitchen tiles and the fridge had not been wiped out. I was moved again and that room was passable. I had driven a long way and the price of the rooms would suggest a higher quality. The hotel is generally tired and in need of upkeep, carpets in hallways are thread bear in parts and the walls need repainting. The furniture is dated but also in poor condition with flaking varnish coming off timber. I don't mind old buildings and furniture but expect a high level of cleanliness particularly in the current environment (COVID). I was on a business trip and have stayed a few times over a number of years when working in Bundaberg but will now be looking for an alternative. I was glad I was only staying for 1...
