Sails Sports Bar — Restaurant in Queensland

We booked online for Saturday lunch and sat outside under the big umbrellas which was absolutely beautiful. The food was excellent. I had the hot and cold seafood platter for one and it was honestly top quality and worth every cent! The prawns and squid were so beautiful ❤️

Everyone on our table raved about the quality of the food. Well definitely be back!

The bar service and empty glass and plate removal from our table was terribly slow as there were only 2 women serving and clearing tables over the entire lunchtime rush. We understand how hard it is to get staff at the moment.

The staff were happy and friendly.

The only improvement I could recommend is having a kids menu on the sails menu. We had to order a kids meal from next door which is terribly inconvenient. It came out 10 minutes after all of the adults main meals which never goes down well with the...

After almost 30 minutes of waiting for our order, I asked a team member if they could let me know how long they might be. I was told they're busy and maybe 10-20 minutes further, that's what they're telling everyone who asks, but not really sure. On a public holiday, I can certainly appreciate that this place would be busy (great location), a reasonable estimate of time should be able to be provided though. In the end 40+ minutes for 2 burgers, and they were run of the mill pub burgers.

The male bartender was rude, hearing the question and walking away without even responding. The other staff members appeared busy and stressed and not having the support of the kitchen team or each other.

Bar staff accidentally picked up my vape from the table in the smoking area while I was at the bar. When I told him it was mine and to leave it there, he continued to clean the table but tried to pick it up again. When I came over to say I was staying at the table and just getting a drink he told me I was “intoxicated and need to leave” and “I’m cutting you off “ for “aggressive behaviour”. I think he was trying to steal my vape, what other reason is there to get so aggressive for mistakingly picking up someone’s property. After coming over to me to “explain himself” he cut me off from any services when I voiced my displeasure with him acting so aggressively over a minor mistake.
