I have eaten at Summerie's a few times, both dine-in and take-away, and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean and tidy. The front of the brochure menu (shown below) tells you some useful information, such as general allergy information, possible changes in price and that the food they serve may not look exactly the same as those in the pictures. It's a very attractive menu, shows a variety of dishes, and also uses a small cartoon to indicate the spiciness of the food. In the photos below, I have the Mixed Seafood Pad Thai and Satay Chicken. The Pad Thai was very flavourful, the rice noodles were not overcooked and there was a good amount of seafood in it. The Satay Chicken is a personal favourite of mine - juicy and tender chicken and a potent peanut sauce. I've dined in the restaurant for the Satay Chicken lunch special one time and it was also served with a fresh salad, which I was not expecting as it was not included on the menu, so that was impressive. It may seem a little pricey, but in comparison to other Thai restaurants I've been to, others have similar or pricier meals. I think the price is acceptable and the serving size is good, so the money is...

Summerie's is a fantastic addition to the Precinct at Fairfield. It is more like a small restaurant compared to the other cafe/takeaway style places in the area. This does mean that food is a tad slower to be prepared if that is of concern to you.
The taste of the food is very good. I tired multiple dishes while there and none of them disappointing. I recommend the satay chicken skewers for an entree and the pork belly for a main. If I was to be really critical, the rice was a bit overcooked as it was probably sitting in the cooker for a while, and some of the pork belly pieces I had in my main was a bit dry. But these are only small drawbacks which could be a one off thing.
There is a small problem if you are dining in however, as the outdoor seating is prone to a few fly's, which can be annoying while your are eating, and the amount of seating is limited, so I can see that being a problem on a slightly busy night.
Overall the food is great if you want to try Thai cuisine in Townsville, they are also available for takeaway. Do expect to pay a little more than other food places in the area but its worth it to try something new in...
Read moreIt's hard to rate this place. Two people, two orders. One good, one not.
My partner had the Penang curry and it was good. I had the beef noodle soup and it wasn't good. The soup was bland, lacking depth, and the beef was a bit tough; the noodles were good. BTW is my beef noodles look plain that's they way I like them. I don't like green vegetables so they served the dish the way I asked for it -- so that's good.
It's an upmarket stall in a food court so the atmosphere is OK...
