This was the worst experience ever. Booked and paid for accomodation weeks earlier only to turn up at 2pm on a Friday and have no staff available for check-in. Had to go to the bar next door and they didn’t have a key in our name.
We booked and paid for the luxury king room with spa, after seeing two managers at the pub the best they could do was put us in a standard room and said to sort out the difference with hotel the following day. When we got to the room, the balcony was still littered with empty beer bottles, full ashtrays and the last persons rubbish. When we rang through to the pub they were understaffed and couldn’t have anyone come clear it.
They offered another room but we chose to stay as we had already unpacked and the internals seemed clean and tidy. We then chose to have a meal at the pub for dinner. Which was very poor, I ordered the crispy pork belly served with mash and bokchoy. I received rubbery cold fatty pork, with chips and salad and a mushroom gravy I didn’t order. Hubby’s steak was burnt and tough.

Read moreI have been to this pub a few times and the meals are always excellent and I always feel as though I certainly get my moneys worth. The service staff are so friendly and accomodating, however, the kitchen staff have demonstrated a few problems. The first time I visited, the cooks in the kitchen were screaming and yelling at each other aggressively which disturbed a lot of people in the restaurant. And my most recent visit today, I go to hand my buzzer on the bench and grab our meals when the cook said ‘about f@#ing time’. I looked at him and I asked if putting my buzzer on the bench was okay and he said ‘I don’t f@#ing care, just grab it and go’. I honestly didn’t even bother complaining to the service staff because I’d imagine he had a bad day, or perhaps the service staff are probably already aware of his attitude. The tables orders were ready (only a table of 5) yet mine was very very well done to the point it tasted like a reheated bbq beef sausage. The dianne sauce tasted like watered down tomato sauce, my plate had chips and some steamed carrot, beans and 3 corn cobs and a side plate came out with chips and mash.. not sure whats going through the chefs mind when i ordered seasonal greens and mash.. but we end up with a surplus supply of fries.. wont be back...
