We had dinner here on sunday night. Ordered entrees mains and desert. The front of house staff are friendly enough. My cheese platter did not look like the picture at all. The crackers were all broken and in super tiny pieces. The platter did not have much on it as you can view from picture and it was very different to the one i had the saturday previously. I wanted the eye fillet with chips and salad. I was not allowed to order this. I had to order the eye fillet as it came then order a side of chips and salad with it. I did not like the sauce it came with and would have preffered none. Steak was cooked to perfection, compliments to the chef on that. For desert i wanted mudcake with just cream. Simple and something i thought would not be an issue but it was. My cake came out with ice cream (i dont like ice cream) and strawberry sauce. Not my taste. I got the feeling the staff didnt want to ask for any changes with the food and the chefs are not overly flexible when it comes to straying from the menu to suit a fussy eater. I much prefer to spend money at venues that cater to the customer not the staff. Had they done this id be spending my money there more frequently.
Edit: Updated review. Went there for dinner tonight choosing a Sunday again and totally different experience. The pizza was amazing and the sauce for the garlic prawns is delicious and with 8 king sized prawns to accompany it was great value. Renovations look awesome. Would give 5 stars if kitchen accepted minor...

I visited the RSL today for lunch and, unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Despite the venue not being particularly busy, we waited almost an hour for our meals to arrive. There appeared to be issues with the docket system, as several orders seemed to be delayed, which led to a prolonged wait.
When our meals finally arrived, they were not what we had ordered. Fortunately, I noticed the mistake in time — the dish contained chili, which I cannot eat, and would have made me unwell. My support worker also recognized the issue, and we decided not to proceed with the meal.
That said, I would like to commend the bistro supervisor, who handled the situation with professionalism and courtesy. She kindly offered both me and my support worker $10 gift cards, which was a thoughtful gesture.
It’s clear there are some operational challenges that need addressing, particularly around communication and the tech systems in place. Several other patrons mentioned similar concerns, citing inconsistent service.
While the staff were helpful, the overall experience was disappointing, and I hope improvements can be made to avoid these issues...
Read moreWhere do I start, we have come into town as of the cyclone that happing in our area, we decided to stay in chinchilla have a dinner to take our mind off what is happening to our home thinking we stop out a nice country town, well we walked into a bunch of rudeness Asking staff where to go talking to us like we are dumb their was not a staff member I talked to that had attitude towards us every time you would ask a question..but that wasn’t my biggest issue my biggest issue was as we looking out the menu when it was time to stand up for the commemoration ceremony to show respect started, which we didn’t know until a staff member started yelling out us telling us to stand up. Why we didn’t know it was time, well the commemoration ceremony started it wasn’t loud enough on the speaker it was very low you couldn’t barely even hear it, as the normal music was still going which I thought was very disrespectful I never been to a RSL that still plays normally music while that is happening it wasn’t even silent at all music playing and basically you had staff just yelling out everyone standing up though out the minute The food was alright just looks like it was...
