Unfortunately this franchise doesn't want to improve and keep adding more doubts to the Coffee Club brand.
This has been (by far) my worst experience related with customer service in Hospitality.
After indicating to the service person at the counter to take a specific cake for a take away, she intentionally decided to ignore my request and gave me another one after I have already paid. The situation was so awkward that even another customer next to me looked puzzled and amazed.
When I address the issue with the shift manager, to try to obtain my specific order, the worker had the audacity to change the story as if I never made my order very specific.
The manager, instead of asking me why I wanted to change the product she just said "if it has already been serviced, it can't been changed", which it could be true but it wasn't my situation. On that moment the service lady who attended my order brazenly told the Manager "that is what I told her".
I could have just left the cake and ask for a refund while staying there and argue with the staff on an indefinite discussion about who said this or that. But I decided to not dignify such as lack of education, good manners and service vocation, and I preferred assert my right for a review on this occasion.
Neither the best food nor the best coffee or dessert make people more educated and with knowledge because, as you ignore, bars or counters are used for the client to chose what is displayed, not for the staff to grab the first at hand.
I have endured for so long this situation of early closures, unpredictable open hours, staff shortages, delayed orders, etc. The holder of this Sugarland franchise owned another in the Hinkle Centre and it had to be closed, likely for the bad reviews as well.
There are another four coffee shops in the same Sugarland that are certainly doing better... no wonder why.
People are what people do. Nothing will never...

Ordered breakfast and it took 50 minutes to arrive and was average for the price. Coffee club was about 1/4 full at the time so not busy enough that I would have expected almost an hours wait.
Food was sub par, I got a big breakfast for $26 which had 6 mushroom slices, 1 spinach leaf , 1 rasher of bacon, 2 chipolatas, 1 piece of bread cut in half to look like 2 bits and 2 eggs.
Bacon wasn’t cooked, was obviously microwaved as was lukewarm and showed no cooking indications on the flesh. Eggs were runny when requested to be hard poached. Along side this they were the size of quail eggs. My “smashed avo” was a small bowl which contained about the size of 1tsp.
My wife ordered the fritter with no spinach and hard eggs, which arrived with spinach and runny eggs. It was also $21 which was absurdly overpriced for what she received.
I believe a lot of venues provide way too much food, but in this instance the food was very subpar and absurdly overpriced for the quality and quantity of the meal we received and we won’t be eating at coffee club again. At least not unless something changes.
The staff at the Sugarland venue were lovely, polite and inviting, as always. However the low rating was for the amount of time it took for the food to arrive given the fact that Coffee Club appeared to only have 1/4 the capacity. I’m happy to wait but this was not busy enough for 50 minutes wait and the way the food arrived.
In summary; Food was sub par and not worth the price it cost. Wait times were abysmal given the amount of people waiting. However...
Read moreI was there for lunch on Tuesday at approximately 1.45pm. I ordered the Salt and Pepper Calamari.. The Calamari was not really coated and it wasn't Salt and Pepper, and the salad was a very poor version of a salad. But more disappointingly there were many dirty tables. A lady on a table near the front with a computer who I'm assuming was the owner/operator did nothing at all to ensure tables were cleared while pulling a staff member from working who then sat with her. Staff efficiency was terrible. I've worked in this industry for many years and wanted to get up and ask for a cloth, spray and a tray to clean and clear used tables. Customers had to request staff to clear a table. So then giving a second chance had breakfast there Saturday with a friend.. Person taking order had troubles also my flat white was more cappuccino as it had 1/4 cup of froth on top. I couldn't be bothered complaining as I was too disappointed. Once again tables were not being cleared and cleaned. They were a bit busy but not overly so. My own fault I didn't ask for my breakfast with sauce on the side as it came out drowned in hollandaise sauce. I couldn't see what was on my place.. I had to send it back because there was no way could I have eaten that much sauce besides not being able to taste my food. Floor staff were polite but goodness they either needed another floor member as tables were terrible. People sat down at dirty tables and there was no urgency to get those tables cleaned by staff. I don't believe I'll ever return there for either food or coffee. Whatever is happening...
