Was in the process of ordering when my 5kilo amazingly well behaved little female dog left a tiny piddle message on the walkway through to the jetty, a customer then proceeded to throw his knife at my dog. As anyone who owns or loves animals will understand this nearly ended in an altercation (still wish I had of knocked him out). Man was saying he didn't have to watch that while also lieing and saying she had done a number 2 which wasn't there. I was asked to leave.

Came back later and confronted the owners one of whom was patting his own dog at the time as to how it was acceptable for a customer to throw a knife at a dog and he be allowed to stay. The gentleman running the place actually defended the man even going so far as to say if the council had seen the tiny piddle my dog had done they would be closed down. These guys have there own dog on the premises, I'm livid, mortified and angry at these inbreds and believe there actions in defended the nut case who through the knife at a tiny dog was more about the size I am than honesty.

You could not pay me to eat there, guys were also very dirty and nicotine stained, wouldn't want them preparing...

Food was actually really good. And the waitresses were good considering what they have to deal with. We went for breakfast, pancakes. All the orders were brought out and one was missing bacon which we asked to be prepared again, as per what was ordered and paid for. The ‘chef’ had shut the grill off and offered a refund instead which we declined because we’d already waited for the food, so we asked to have the food which was ordered. The chef proceeded to prepare the food and threw the biggest 2 year old tantrum I have ever witnessed… throwing things and slamming things so loud that it made EVERYONE in the restaurant uncomfortable. The staff that are there are so miserable because of the ‘chef’ and his attitude problem. We understand that it’s frustrating however we did not mess up the order, the chef himself. I have never ever witnessed such unprofessional behaviour from a grown adult. The food was actually really good, however the whole experience was shadowed by the attitude and tantrum. Your staff a...

Situated on the beautiful waterfront with great potential, it was disappointing to receive limited quality service and food. It would appear travellers, or more possibly so, children, are not wanted within the venue and we were directed to the outside tables on one of the windiest mornings. We watched another family with children venture also to the outside tables prior to us leaving. The menu description's were not as per what we received. Two slices of toast is now known as one slice of toast cut in half and Eggs Benedict is now poached eggs on an English muffin with hollandaise sauce. Though whipped cream was asked to accompany the children’s pancakes, this was not delivered. The drinks were reasonable sizes and mostly well made with the exception of one burnt coffee. Perhaps the staff could benefit from a break or a holiday, to help rejuvenate their energy levels, so they can appear somewhat enthused to deliver their service (the hospitality industry...

When walking the esplanade, we decided to eat fish and chips for Lunch. SERVICE Prompt and friendly FOOD & DRINK We ordered both fish & battered chips and hamburgers with milkshakes. Based on some reviews on TripAdviser, we were worried the fish size was small. Was pleasantly surprised to see the serving size was adequate. Milkshakes were chooks and delicious. ATMOSPHERE You cannot beat waterfront views

Beautiful place to dine as the sun sets. Lovely staff. Ordered entree of 500gms of king prawns for main meal. Asked for a small salad on the side. Chief came out and asked what I liked and didn't like. Truly, it was the nicest salad I had ever had. My husband had a main of barramundi and vegetables. We certainly recommend this restaurant to you. Apparently, they have lovely breakfast and lunch, too.

This is a wonderful venue... Best in Cooktown. Stunning views and fishing action on the wharf. We have had several meals here and the chief is top quality. Everything we have eaten here has been exquisite. Very well worth a visit, even if just for the views, a and cheery service. Get down there, watch the action and be treated to the best meal in the north!
