The food was pretty good. However over 30 minutes wait time wasn't! We had just driven from Charters Towers and wanted lunch for us and our young children. The young girl who took the order was run off her feet and obviously the orders were to much for her to handle on her own and she appeared quiet stressed but was doing her job the best she can. She was however super friendly and patient while I was deciding what we wanted to have.
A few more customers walked in after me 1 of which was served before my order was ready and he came in 20 minutes after me. As a chef myself time management skills are massive thing in hospitality as is friendliness. I was about to get up and ask how long it was going to be as my children were quiet upset waiting in the car with my partner. As I was just about to get up a gentleman came to the front of the shop (maybe the owner) and was talking to the young girl like rubbish. I felt so bad for her so did not say anything. But my partner was texting from the car saying the children were quiet upset and at this point it had already been 35 minutes of waiting!! And we had 3hrs driving ahead of us. So I went to the car and he went in. He did ask how long it would be still and state how long it had taken so far and it was like it didn't matter. No apology from the owner or anything after spending over $65!! And the snack pack ended up being sour cream and sweet chilli with only lamb instead of a mixed meat snack pack like I ordered with cheese and garlic and yoghurt sauce. So the kids couldn't eat it anyway as it was to spicy for them! 🤦🏼♀️ I spent ages looking for a highly recommended place to eat as we are always so disappointed.
Yes the kebabs were good and the shop is clean but certainly not worth the wait or having to hear the young girl being treated like that. I take my hat off to her for not walking out because if I was spoken to in that manner I would have walked out. This is why young people struggle so much with anxiety and self esteem. I understand hospitality is stressful I have done it for years. But do better for your employees and set a better example for them! They should feel comfortable...
Read moreTroy Kebabs was specificially invited to an army ball at Lavarack, and they had the longest queue of more than a dozen food trucks. Good thing we got into the queue early, because they sold out... and believe me, I was scoping out the food options, and I saw first-hand that Troy Kebabs had come equipped with plenty of meat for a large crowd. The army folks couldn't get enough of these wraps that night.
Since our first experience with Troy Kebabs at Lavarack, we've gone back multiple times to the Troy Kebabs location at Domain Central when we're in the mood for a mouth-watering Turkish-style wrap with flavorful meat and fresh salad ingredients. Troy Kebabs will make a delicious, sizable, affordable wrap exactly how you like it -- and at...
Read moreThe food smelled incredible and tasted just as amazing. I ordered a small snack pack with added feta, carrot, and onion, plus a chicken kebab with cheese, and paired it with two vanilla Cokes—everything was delicious and freshly prepared. The atmosphere was great, with good music and a TV to keep you entertained while waiting. Although the food did take a little time, it’s worth noting this isn’t a fast food spot—it’s all about high-quality meals, and the wait was justified. The only minor downside was that the staff member at the door could have been a bit more welcoming. Overall, the service was good, and I’d highly recommend this place for a...
