Booked this hotel through lastminute.com (they are next on the list of reviews) and turned up during what we thought were reception hours. Apparently closes at 6. Needed to wait for someone to come book us in OR go running through the hotel to find them. Arriving just after 6, there was a serious of stuff arounds, and we were put into the wrong room. Despite attempts to resolve this, we were still waiting 45 minutes later for a suitable room that we had booked. I had booked a family room specifically for the bedding of 1 Queen and 2 singles, (for my son, granddaughter and myself), but had inadvertently neglected to put in the child in the booking, and apparently this gives the hotel the right to switch around the bookings and give them a room that they "think" is appropriate. Not good enough. At this stage I requested a refund (and was assured this would happen) and we went and booked at another hotel. I have since made contact with the hotel, and they accept no responsibility, and have refused to refund, as they supplied a room for 2 adults and that is all they had to do. Obviously, they thought I wanted a family room bedding setup just for the hell of it. While we were there awaiting service, there was also another gentleman trying to check in, and after travelling all day, he was told he had to go down to the games room and get sorted. BTW, what we did see when we were waiting for room to be sorted, was that the room stuck, doors didn't lock and were extremely basic. Do yourself a favour and book in at one of the decent...

My son was suffering from heat stroke, so once we were seated, I went to the bar and asked for a "jug of water"... Katie, served me. I saw her walk off, and come back with a bottle of spirits. I didn't pay attention to the bottle, but asked her if that was for me. She said yes, that's what you asked for.
I replied that I asked for a jug of water. I then realised she had brought out a bottle of "Johnny Walker". Instead of having a laugh and realising she misheard me, she backed down and continued to say that I asked for Johnny Walker. I told her about my sick 11yo, and that I was 100% certain of what I asked for. Did Katie accept that? No, just nore foul attitude. After I got the jug of water, she continued to show horrible attitude when asking for how many cups I wanted.
What a horrible first experience. I'm sorry Katie, you are in the wrong profession
We then had our drinks orders stuffed up, by Katie again.
We were sitting with our friends, who ordered their meals literally seconds before us. Guess who took our order ...? They they got their meals in a timely manner, but we got stitched up, and they turned up literally as our friends had finished eating their dinners.
That being said, the Angus steak was amazing. So that was a positive.
The male bar staff member and the two other female staff were friendly. It's just a shame Katie's antics left a sour taste in our mouths, and we won't be back literally...
