Wara Sushi — Restaurant in Queensland

Very disappointed with this place. My partner and I arrived at this place on the 25th day of September 2021 for lunch after reading reviews about how good the sushi was. My partner and I arrived and were given the number seven to hold while we wait for a seat, we waited for approximately 20minutes, during this period numbers higher then us and couples that had arrived later were receiving seats in the restaurant before us. After seeing the couples that arrived after us received seats we then approached the waiter, during this process we saw that our number seven was crossed off to say that we were seated in the restaurant. We told the waiter about this, which she said she will get it fixed up as soon as possible. The waiter then continued to call two couples that had just arrived to seat before us even though we made them aware about there stuff up. Very rude customer service and not worth the wait for the sushi. The way we were handled and dealt with left a sour taste in our mouth and highly recommend avoiding this place. Absolutely horrendous visit. Third time visiting this particular store (I go regularly to fairfield). It was the worst visit of the 3 with the first 2 not much better. The train was not even half stocked. Waited 20min to get items that should have been on the train. A portion of tuna that was waiting to be cut sat on the bench for the full hour of our visit. No staff cleaning after people had left (one family cleared their own bar area so they could sit down). The sushi that was on the train was so poorly made it was falling apart. One of my choices was missing ingredients and was just thrown together. Wasn't going to ask for another due to the delay in getting it in the first place. Visit was an hour and only ate 6 plates. Usually we eat much more and stay for less time. The staff at this store looked miserable and clearly did not care. No love towards their food and no love towards any customers. Such a shame. Maybe it’s a new shop but the food is not the same as the Wara Sushi over at Fairfield. The food on the sushi trains looks ok. However, it doesn’t tastes the same. Additionally, the Teppanyaki beef I ordered came out completely burnt and dry (you can see it in the photo attached). I asked the waiter for a remake because it was pretty much inedible. The remake came out ... dry and less burnt. I didn’t want to make too much of a fuss so I just ate it. My best guess is the dish was cooked way too long. Combine that with little or no sauce and a scalding hot cast iron plate and you got a burnt dish. The same dish is way better at Gyo or even Wara over at Fairfield.
