Not being a fan of gentrification, Little Cheffies transcends societal expectations by honing in on a country-style locals cafe that signals the gateway to the Southwest, which living in Rockingham is truly a privilege of.
The staff chat with you as you would expect at a little country cafe (bliss!!), and not only was I greeted with a smile, but it still hadnt left my face by the time I sat down (owing heartily to some marshmallows with my mocha, thank you!).
Being a cook, I love an open kitchen so I can see what's going on. I haven't heard Chef Mike go off once, any time I have been here (unlike a popular beachfront cafe a few doors away!). It might not be the best bread, but it comes out hot, they might not be laid by the cafés chooks, but the poached eggs are always perfectly cooked.
I wouldn't take my North of the river friends here, they just simply wouldn't "get" it. But this is the kind of place that feels like it was made for us, not Instagram.
Yet to try the lunch menu and probably never will. Im a breakfast girl through and through. Only critique is Id love to see them drop some more trendy menu items in favour of more basic ones like a smash avo and salmon thing than chicken waffles. But maybe they sell better than I...
Read moreI feel very ripped off and cheated. Public holiday 15% surcharge I understand, I have also owned a restaurant. But paying $5.50 for a coffee plus a surcharge %15 which sounds fair. Total bill 22.08 Let’s break this down 3 coffees $5.50 each- 16.50 Surcharge is $0.82 on each coffee Also 0.30 approx for cc tap And Then ANOTHER %15 surcharge on the total bill. I did bring it up with staff and they tried to explain and the manage did come up and asked my issue. She went on to explain how cheap they coffee is and public holidays etc. I didn’t want to carry on as my Uncle took us there and her explanation wasn’t enough and didn’t make sense. So they should instead say there is a %30 surcharge . 3 standard coffees cost me 22.08. $16.50 plus $5.58 Please let...
Read moreI absolutely can't get enough of this little cafe for breakfast and or brunch, the homestyle cooking and generous portions is what keeps me coming back regularly. The staff are always super friendly and I love that they remember my coffee order. I also like it when the owner and head chef makes a suggestion to try something different and so far all of her recommendations have been on point and very tasty. The prices on the menu are very affordable, I couldn't tell you the last time breakfast or brunch cost under $50 for 2 people. Great price and good hearty meals. You're losing money by not giving this cafe a go. Dinning is comfortable and also provides outdoor and indoor options for seating.
Keep it up team. We...
