The only reason our night out on holidays was restored was by your team member Coralie. Coralie was absolutely amazing from the get go, she made us feel so comfortable when we had a โ€œregularโ€ male customer try to rock the boat when I took my 8 year old male child to the toilet. This particular customer was very adamant for me to stay far away from the male toilets. Your team member, Coralie, quickly came to me to apologise and assure me this business is not about this sort of behaviour, she knew what is was like having a young male child as she has boys of her own, I was ready to leave with my group of 10 easily spending over 400 dollars. If it wasnโ€™t for this woman giving us her absolute best personal service, we would have left and made it known. I do hope someone other then me thanks Coralie, without her, your business would have looked like a joke. She kept it together for you in the most professional yet personal way possible and I will not forget my time there, unfortunately it wasnโ€™t the food nor the venue, it was this one person. Thank you Coralie, I will not forget you. As a retail manager I really hope this comment is heard as this night was make or break for us and let me tell you this woman made it for us by going out of her comfort zone and doing this for your business. Coralie if you ever need work please do not hesitate to contact me as staff like you are very hard to come byโ€ฆโ€ฆ one more thing, you look the part with your gorgeous pink glasses ! Humanity restored...

I came here on two consecutive evenings, both times not long before they were due to close. On the first evening, after signing in by allowing them to record electronically my German drivers licence I went to the food counter to order my food and then, separately to the bar to get my beer. I was told that they would be closing soon but they still prepared me 6 natural oysters as a starter and then a decent sized plate of fish and chips. I sat by the big window on the 1st floor overlooking the beach and ocean, but it got dark quickly & I soon I found myself staring at my own reflection...

Even though I ended up being their last customer before closing at 8:00 p.m., I really appreciated the friendliness and willingness of staff to chat with me. In fact as I was contemplating where to eat on the second night in Shoal Bay I decided to return. I had forgotten to check the time and it was really only 10 minutes or so before closing. But when I said that I only wanted some oysters and a drink they were happy for me to stay. The oysters were absolutely delicious. And even though I was their last customer on two consecutive evenings they seemed very relaxed, friendly and patient with...

We managed to grab a table out on the balcony, which was fantastic and we were lucky enough to see the dolphins swimming by while having lunch.

The service was good, however the food was definitely nothing special. We got a bruschetta, the regular calamari stack as well as extra Tartare sauce to share between the 2 of us totally $46.

For the Bruschetta we got 3 pieces. There was minimal onion, minimal basil and minimal balsamic glaze on it. Unfortunately the taste was quiet bland.

The calamari stack wasn't anything fabulous. The calamari was tender, the chips were floury and the salad was less than basic.

Unfortunately the extra tartare sauce I order and paid $2.50 for, was one of those small 2oz plastic containers worth. I was extremely shocked that I was charged the amount I was for so little.

All in all our lunch experience at the club was disappointing after what we have come to expect...

Canโ€™t fault the food here. I watched tons of dishes come out of the kitchen and they all looked incredible. Kitchen is very well run. My grilled fish, chips and salad was awesome. Fish perfectly cooked. My wifeโ€™s Thai beef salad was very good. Kids fish and chips, faultless. The view from the restaurant is also amazing. Where it loses a star for me is how loud it was from drunk men all talking over one another which isnโ€™t great when having dinner with the wife and kids and we could hardly hear one another across the table. Not sure if it is always like this. As a local it was a bit disappointing when I saw the bar staff serving more beer to the clearly drunk men, encouraging them on. So all in all, great food and friendly staff with an awesome view. I would definitely eat there again, but perhaps a tad earlier.

Lovely little club on the main street and Shoal Bay. Food times are lunch 12-2 and dinner 6-8. We love this place and make a point of visiting anytime we visit Port Stephens and the surrounding area. Highly recommend them seafood platter for two at $62 it has everything. The fish is all fresh and local and tastes amazing. It has fresh prawns, fresh local oysters, fresh breaded and fried calamari, fresh battered hoki and barramundi as well as battered prawns with a heaping of chips at the bottom! The drinks are very reasonably priced too and the staff are lovely and friendly. The seating area offers fantastic views across Shoal Bay and it can get extremely busy so highly recommend getting in early!
