We had 4 days + 3 nights on KI recently, and got the chance to check out Rabbit Warren, just after they opened one morning. Multiple locals had recommended it to us.
There's no fluff here, just a clean, spacious bakery with kind, affable staff and a glorious selection of sweet & savory items. We chose a number of small options to get the best variety. Some of the pastries offer a 'finger' size to get a few yummy bites without a full piece commitment. Surprisingly, the pink frosted donut with sprinkles ended up being the star of the show for us: the perfect donut with perfect frosting. We also had milk chocolate mochas and sat outside on their large, shaded patio.

We did a quick stop to grab a couple of items for the drive to Flinders Chase National Park - the Guinness Pie was yummy with a good flavour and huge chunks of tender beef with a touch of capsicum. The beef and mushroom pie had a decent amount of mushrooms.
The pie pastry is the type that is sturdy and ideal for holding in hand i.e. it does not fall apart on you as you eat it out of the paper bag! If you’re looking for delicate puff pastry or crumbly shortcrust, this is not it.
