The 1 star is for the food. The lack of stars is for the awful customer service. No amount of smiles or nice vibes from us could have turned our sour and grumpy waitress around. She was in a bad mood (we had no idea why) and really took it out on the customers. It wasn’t extremely busy. Our order wasn’t complicated. This was at around 11am on Friday 13/12. My sister’s drink (a can of Coke Zero) was plonked down on the table in an aggressive manner - can shoved inside a glass of ice, not opened. Food tasted good.
Customers aren’t mind readers. We don’t know why the waitress was in a bad mood. She shouldn’t be working in hospo or come to work if that’s how she’s going to treat people. Plenty of other places in Sunshine beach and Noosa where you can spend your money on simple uncomplicated cafe food and receive much better, friendlier service. Wouldn’t recommend The Deck for this reason. It’s a competitive market and for food and drink that you can get anywhere, I would suggest going...
Read moreGreat location with plenty of space... But clearly there is no passion or interest by anyone who works here to make a half decent cafe. Food is just as you'd cook it at home hung over on a Sunday morning. Minimal effort but fills the gap. Coffee is just hot milk poured over an espresso shot with a $5 price tag, no effort to attempt to make it look nice. On top of that horrible service. I ordered 2 coffee's and 2 meals. Having noticed the amount I was charged was below what it should be by a meal, I proceeded to ask the staff member who took my order if the 2nd meal was on the order, they said yes (didn't bother to check the order). SURPRISE! The meal, wasn't on the order... So when we asked what appeared to be the chef or/and manager, he was hostile to our questions. Our exchange ultimately ended in him say, I'm not going to make the meal. Ultimately, don't waste your time or money. Prices are comparable with other cafes which actually offer a far...
Read moreMy mother and I had breastfast this morning and had he pancakes, avo toast and corn fritters. The food coffee and juice was very nice maybe a tiny bit expensive but was a very nice breakfast. only issue was one of the fritters was not cooked completely in the middle which could happen to anyone.
We let the staff know and they offered to cook a new one immediately which we didnt want as we had pretty much finished eating and needed to get going. We were not after a refund or anything just wanted to give some feed back.
The Owner/chef came out was extremely apologetic offered a full refund on the meal plus free coffee for all of us or anything else off the menu for take away. We took him up on a chai latte, baby chino and a muffin (which was also very nice). The issue was handled very quickly and well we will definitely be back again when in the area. The Staff at the Jam up the road could learn a thing or...
