An unforgettable culinary experience! Dining at Bottarga by DA BIUSO was nothing short of extraordinary. This gem of a restaurant serves Italian cuisine that's as close to perfection as we've ever tasted - easily among the best meals we've had. We decided on the $75 Shared Banquet - great choice! This was the perfect amount of food. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, friendly and impressively knowledgeable. The family/staff's passion for the food truly elevated the entire experience. Every dish was standout, but the Tasmanian lamb fillet deserves a special mention - cooked to absolute perfection, tender and bursting with flavour. The Wagyu melted in our mouths and the housemade Sicilian bread was incredible (warm & honestly addictive) and dessert was the perfect sweet finish - simple, elegant and absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant. Give it a go - you won't be disappointed!

Bottarga is a must try restaurant! You cannot visit the Sunshine Coast without stopping in for a meal. Each and every time my wife and I have visited, we have been increasingly impressed with the food and service standards. I’m always sharing with my wife, which makes it even easier to order something extra to taste and share. What I like to do to maximise my Bottarga experience, is to order 2-3 smaller entree dishes, a main meal and a nice bottle of red wine. We will often start with a burrata soft cheese, beef carpaccio and some bruschetta. Tip: A good cocktail to pair with the above mentioned entrees is the Lemon drop with a sugar rim ☺️. Lastly a big thank you to the service team, you complete the experience that is ‘Bottarga’. And to the readers, if you can remember to leave even a modest tip for the service team, it’s a nice way of saying thank you to the people you cannot see behind the scenes.

Friday night for 2 - reasonably busy. Solid Italian. House made pasta - good quality. Beef carpaccio was ok. Nice addition of balsamic ‘pearls’. No photo for this dish. Pork fillet with herb crust - aubergine puree. Very nice dish. Pork cooked pink. Tender. Nice bodied sauce. Smoky aubergine puree elevated the dish. Bucatini prawn dish - dish of the night. Proper fresh prawns! Really good seafood bisque-like sauce. Hollow tubed pasta was excellently made. This prawn pasta dish is perhaps one of the best on the coast I’ve had. Far superior than the one at lilianas trattoria and I think better than the Bocca version too. Potatas - roasted kippfler potatoes. Ok - nothing special. Nice to mop up all the sauces with it. Overall - highly recommended Italian joint in the heart of Sunshine Coast. Last time I had their signature crab spaghettini with bottarga dish - this was also very good.

The setting here gives the impression of fine dining — people dressed up, the ambience projects the feel of semi premium, which falls just short in delivery, and expectations are high. Unfortunately, the food doesn’t match the presentation.

I ordered the seafood platter ($79). While it included exactly what was listed, the portions were very minimal and the execution poor: tiny scallops that were unappetising, a halved Moreton Bay bug with very little meat and overcooked, two small cuts of fish that were served cold, four prawns drenched in sauce, and crumbed calamari that arrived cold and somewhat soggy. For the price, this was far below what you’d expect — both in quality and value.

Other dishes at the table (steak and pasta) were enjoyed by those who ordered them, but from a 'critical eye', they also seemed very plain and portioned more like entrées than mains, especially for the price point. I sampled a little of the other dishes and nothing really stood out in flavour.

Service was polite and the ambience is set to be appealing, but overall the food quality, portion sizes, and temperature control let the experience down. Bottarga gives the performance of fine dining, but the food simply doesn’t deliver on that promise.

Execution – temp control, doneness, sauces balanced. Portions – too minimal for premium pricing Flavour – plain, nothing standout across dishes Ambience – open windows kill intimacy; curtains/walls could lift vibe Identity – projects premium,...

Another masterpiece from Biuso family, the restaurant is located in a beautiful area. Atmosphere is out of this world, relaxing and quiet, where you can spend few hours for a delightful dinner. Food is real Italian with a superb mix of taste and fresh ingredients. We opted for the the menu a la cart but there are as well different options of set menu. All the dishes are made with love and professional techniques. I had few entrees ( Fish and chips bun was a milestone) . For main courses I and my partner decided to share couple of different pasta ( all of them was homemade pasta) Mine was tortelli filled with eggplant and fresh tomatoes sauce an explosion of flavour in your mouth. My partner had Spaghetti with prawns and prawns bisque there are no words for describe the freshness and taste of this dish. Main courses? Yes off course, my choice was fish of the day and for my partner was the lamb . Both of the dishes was cooked to perfection. Outstanding selection of wine on the list, Sarah she can suggest the best match with any dish. ( really important at this day because in other place there is no one can drive to a great choice of wine with your meal) Not fan of a dessert but here you can change your mind. Simple dessert but really well presented and prepared with an excellent technique and passion from the chef. Well done again Biuso family and thank you for delivery another great experience with food...

After visiting bottarga with my family for Mother’s Day lunch it will be impossible to go anywhere else for a meal or a night out. From the moment you step into Bottarga, you’re enveloped in an atmosphere that perfectly balances refined elegance with warm hospitality. This restaurant is a true hidden gem, a dining experience that is both elevated and deeply satisfying. The menu is a masterclass in modern Mediterranean cuisine, with each dish crafted from the finest of ingredients. The chef's attention to detail is evident in every bite, with flavors that you won’t forget. The wine list is expertly curated, showcasing regional favorites alongside international selections, and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable, offering amazing recommendations. What truly sets Bottarga apart is its commitment to excellence, from the artistry of the dishes to the graciousness of the service. It’s had to find somewhere where every element of your meal is perfect, not just the meals but the drinks and the desserts. It’s rare to find a place where every element of the experience feels so intentionally and flawlessly executed. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking an extraordinary meal, Bottarga is the kind of place you’ll find yourself thinking about long after the last course has been cleared. A five-star treasure in...
