Being Italian, everyone told me I just had to go and visit this cafe. What a disappointment. Nobody seemed to be in charge and other than the barista at the coffee machine, no one seemed to know what they were doing.
This can not be the same cafe that others have raved about and carries so many positive reviews. I know staffing in hospitality is tough right now, but there were four staff to serve not that many people. We stood there for ages totally ignored by everyone frantically running around behind the counter doing their best to avoid eye contact. First rule of customer service is acknowledge the customer, with a smile or a simple "won't be long", even if you're busy. It was awkward and just weird.
We were about to leave when a girl reluctantly looked up and said "what can I get?" to which I really wanted to reply; "Well you could start with some training." I held my tongue. However, by now, having picked up the general chaotic and unpleasant vibe of the cafe, we decided to just get out of there. Plus, the canolli looked a bit soggy and everything looked a bit half-hearted.

Cake: Cakes are mostly moose-based. Simple but good variety of cannoli and great selection of basic pastries.
Savoury: Not many savoury dishes, they used to have amazing filled baguettes but now doing paninis. I miss the baguettes though.
Service is friendly. Not the best in the world. Somewhat familiar about some products but could be greatly improved.
Square payment machine is always touch-and-go regarding making payment, a bit frustrating when you go there often and/or there is a line behind you. I usually wouldn't come here if I am in a rush to pick something up for lunch for this reason, or that there is usually a line depending on the time of day you come.
Can be difficult to find a table but that's reasonable considering the size, location and busyness.
I am looking forward to our booking at their...
