Went for breakfast this morning, first concern was that we weren't allowed to split the bill, so we sperated the table into two separate numbers, ( it is 2018 right !!) What attracted us in was the healthy breakfast advertisdment on the front of the cafe for $9.90 and eggs for an extra $3.00. The young waitress that served us was lovely, unfortunately there must of been a communication problem between her and the floor supervisor, because she knew nothing of the special. We ordered 2 healthy breakfast 1 egg and bacon roll and a English breakfast and a latte coffee, quite a simple order. The latte presented it self with a love heart in the milk but the overwhelming bitter taste took all the love away, ( clean your coffee machine and don't serve your coffee so scolding hot). Soon after the breakfasts arrive but a new waitress delivered them and the order was wrong, my partner informed her of the special advertised out the front and that the fist waitress had gotten the order wrong. They said no worries won't be long. They have a open kitchen here and we watched the chef aggressively throw the wrong order of food in the bin, which was intimidating, 5 minutes later the French guy who works there took the special sign down. The breakfasts were ok, the size was small compared to the price, no butter offered with bread and $3.00 per egg extra. When we got up to pay the lady with blonde hair that was in her late 40ties served us, they called the young waitress over that got the order wrong and told her off aggressively in front of us, she started crying, we felt absolutely terrible, the management was disgusting. All we wanted was a simple breakfast all together as a family and instead we experienced a poor managed business that brings there staff to tears, will we be back the...
Read moreAlways good food that’s what makes you go back. The grumpy owner is so very annoying that he walks around hover smiling and at times yelling. They never follow government regulations with covid prevention like staff nor wearing masks a few nights ago. Masks are going today, but it’s shows their respect for their customers by not following health regulations, what else don’t they do in the regard to health. Rats anyone.. who knows how well they clean. Other than that the young girls who work there while pleasant don’t think outside the square to solve issues even minor ones like paying with 2 credit cards can send them into a spin at the register. Why have we allowed this dumbed down standard to become the new normal. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, but while there isn’t much choice in coolum you might end up here until some competition arrives and then I’ll watch this place die out hopefully. As long as the competition understands customer service and regulations they should kill it.. service and safety is worth more than just good food. We were also given the bill before being offered coffee or desert. Clearly the staff decided we’d had enough. Not a great way to end an experience for your customers just because it was approaching 9pm.. most establishments stay open or at least offer final coffee with a we are closing soon announcement .
Reply received thank you.. But you don't follow the rules because not one of your staff were checking Vaccination Status of any guests, our party included and no one was wearing a mask the last 2 times I have been there. That is clearly a failure to follow health...
Read moreVenue looks nice but should have changed our minds as soon as we got seated. Not only was the ocean view facing seating and felt like we just dumped there cause they were too “busy” even though there were empty tables around but the staff were horrible. Not only did they serve later arrivals before us they forget our ordered they kept trying to bring other foods to us and forgot our drinks. Once the food come out is where it all fell apart. Ordered the 2 entree specials on the board fist prawn in a cream sauce was great but the french onion soup was missing onion except for a few strands. You can also tell it was made from a simple packet of French onion soup mix. On top of that the toast served it was almost burnt - so dry and hard.
Main course gnocchi with cheese sauce... exact same sauce as the prawn dish we had for entree, but the gnocchi over oversized and because of this was raw / mushy mess that tasted like raw flour. Unbeatable!
Other main course was the “wild” mushroom risotto and this comes out with a consistency of fried rice and “wild” mushrooms??? I looked through the whole dish and couldn’t only find simple button mushrooms. Top it off it was steaming hot when it come out like it was microwaved... this again was unbeatable.
We did give feedback and the waitress came and to to proceed to tell us that we were wrong that the chef advised made it fresh! And then walked away !
Won’t be going back...
