Hot Chilli Bean Thai Cafe — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

I've have eaten here many times, but sadly, this will be my last. The only reason I have given the food two stars is because every other time we've eaten here, it's been delicious. Tonight was a one star rating. I asked at the counter if there was a new chef, because I couldn't believe I was eating at the same restaurant. Food. Entree came out at virtually the same time as the mains, so the spring rolls went cold by the time I'd eaten some of my pad see ew. Pad see ew is always a go to favourite of mine, and I'm sure I've ordered this dish here before. The dish lacked the smoky taste that I usually love in this dish, because the sauce was too salty and overpowering. In the end I took most of it home, not because I liked it, but because I paid for the prawns (of which they were quite generous, actually) and I figured i could steam some Chinese greens to go with the leftovers tomorrow, and even as some rice if the flavour was still too strong. I needed a mint after dinner to get rid of the strong sauce taste in my mouth. The spring rolls, while crispy, were fairly tasteless, and the chilli sauce was the only flavour there was. I didn't finish them. Service. The wait staff were noisy behind the counter, having a laugh and sharing things on their phones. I had to ask someone to take my order. I also found it unusual that I wasn't asked how my meal was as I left. Have they received some complaints? I'm really disappointed. 15/01/21 - We hadn't booked a table (being visitors on first day didnt know you'd have to book) so walked up at 5pm for an early dinner. Was told because we didnt have a booking that there probably wasn't any tables. The young girl went to check and came to say they could fit us in the back corner, inside. Ok, fair enough so we took our seat in the hot stuffy corner and ordered.

The food was spectacular and pricing expected for the location

What was annoying, was when we left just after 6pm the other inside tables were vacant and the outside area was still pretty much empty!! 3 sets of "booked" diners and 1 set of 3 girls who walked in just minutes before we left, whom we overhead staff say, we're fully booked but you can have this spare table (outside!) They all clearly knew each other.

The manager here clearly has no idea how to schedule bookings as during our 1hr there she turned away at least 3 other people that i saw because they were fully booked??!?? Yet tables were there EMPTY and they were turning away business because of bookings that obviosuly weren't for another couple of hours.

Food A+ Overall Experience due to sitting in a hot stuffy corner when we quiet easliy could have been seated outside in the cool breeze, and watching them turn business...
