I recently visited Heirloom Coolum Beach and had a fantastic experience, despite a small hiccup with my order. I had ordered the beef brisket roti, but was accidentally served a beef brisket toastie instead. The staff were quick to make amends—they let me keep the toastie to enjoy immediately and whipped up the correct roti shortly after. As an extra treat, they offered us a free smoothie since they had made a little too much. Such thoughtful service truly stood out.

Wow. I saw the beef brisket toastie on the menu in passing yesterday and headed straight there this morning. It. Was. Delicious. The sourdough was perfectly toasted, a mix of buttery and crispy. The brisket was generous and juicy, and there was just enough melted cheese (and flaky cheese on top) to avoid tipping over into a food coma.

I wondered why the neighbouring cafe was busier; Heirloom’s menu is more reasonably priced imho. Perhaps people are looking for more typical brekkie fare.
