Well I must say that I'm disappointed with today's lunch. I booked a table for 10 people for my 60th birthday with family and I had previously had a birthday here enjoying cold seafood platter, but no cold seafood except oysters which I don't eat. We ordered in three separate family orders and the first order for 2 Barra and 2burgers came with a barramundi meal missing. So we notified staff. Then the next order arrived ok. The 3rd order, two meals arrived calamari and. Lunch special bangers and mash, but the lunch special for battered fish didn't arrive until after the missing barra meal. And we had to ask staff why the barramundi on both dishes, still had the fish scales on the skins. The waitress didn't understand that you are supposed to be able to consume the skin of the barramundi and swallowing fish scales is not normal. She offered to tell the kitchen staff. She apologized. Then the bar staff brought six water glasses to the table, every glass was filthy, I took them back to the bar and requested clean glasses - he handed me another six glasses that looked dirty. I refused to take them, suggested they turn up the hot water on the dishwasher or clean out the rinse filter. He gave me clean coca cola glasses - they were clean. Then I finally got to eat my calamari. My guests and I drove 90km+ from north of Gympie and from manly for a very disappointing experience, and I'm not happy I had to deal with this on my very special day, 60th birthday and celebrating 10yrs cancer free. Sadly I'm never going to organise a gathering at your surf club as the quality of food prep and service is not good and it wasn't a busy day. Plenty of staff but clearly someone needs to review your kitchen about not serving scales to customers on barramundi skin. Imagine if my guests had eaten the skin without inspection. Very disappointed. Maybe the kitchen were short-staffed or not supervised. Not sure but it was a lot better the previous visit. The barramundi was apparently tasty, without the scaly skin and the guests enjoyed their burgers and calamari and battered fish, bangers and mash were also nice. Maybe check your dishwasher filters and water glasses before giving to patrons. Check fish scales are not on the barramundi before serving. Hopefully these matters can be addressed. I hate having to complain about this especially on my birthday which should have been a relaxing fun gathering with my parents and relatives. We were at table 1 from 11:45 to 13:30. I'm glad it was a Tuesday and not a busy day.

The response from management was that his kitchen staff said they didn't provide two barramundi meals with scales on the skin, so I guess the 10 customers at the table must have imagined the scales, and given we know how to fish and scale fish, and blamed my aunt for forgetting to order her husband a meal ie she asked for two barramundi meals and two burgers, the staff proceed the order incorrectly as one barramundi. But again blame the customer for the mistake. They acknowledge the water glasses were an issue. Won't be returning to this club. Very disappointed with the experience, and the manager response and the staff blaming the customers. Lucky my guests didn't eat the skin of the barramundi and choke on the scales, I guess we might have been believed if an ambulance was needed. We know how to de-scale fish, clearly your kitchen staff need lessons and the skin is the first thing people consume as crispy skin is the best part of the meal, unfortunately due to the scales on the skin the customers left on the plate after complaining to wait staff who are not aware it shouldn't have scales. We support surf lifesaving clubs but won't be back again and we drove over 90km for this special gathering....

I hadn't been here for a few years and was happy to visit again. The food and service was great, Moreton bay bug and crab pasta in the photo. The barman made great margarita cocktails 🍸 and had a little win on the pokies 🤗 "Update 31st Aug 2024. Unfortunately we've had several disappointing meals since my original review. Last night I ordered "Ocean Catch" It was disappointing, the battered fish fillet was 'very small', 2 Calamari rings, 2 prawn cutlets, 2 oysters. The oysters were the best part. The chips were inedible, overdone and oversalted. I left them all on my plate and mentioned to the waitress. The side salad was average. My partner ordered steak with extra mashed potato and vegetables. The mashed and veg were in separate bowls and the mashed was swimming in oil or melted butter. We've had many meals here, most of which we've had complaints about Unfortunately. I don't like to complain but the meals are expensive and quality very...

This was my second time dining at this place. I can't fault the meals I had both times. The first time, I had steak. I rarely eat steak in general, but when it was time to order, I just said steak. It was absolutely delicious. Tonight, I had the pork belly Asian salad, and that was amazing! The bar staff tonight were fantastic, and the staff on the floor were as well. When I was leaving, I made sure to sign up for membership. Thanks!!!

Update 21 Nov: Still have an amazing experience. Love the addition of Heineken on tap. Since this last review, I've had the Dicky Beach Parm and a chicken dish with mash potato and seasonal veggies. Both meals I could not fault. Will be back again for sure 🙂

Update 3 August 24: Cannot fault this place. Meals are always on point and a great selection of beers. Service is always amazing and efficient. Will keep...

DBSC was a great choice for our wedding reception! It was a bit rocky at first because I believe they seemed to be finding a new events coordinator, but once Jasmine came on, it was very smooth. She's extremely organised and got me everything I needed (such as room layouts & a breakdown of everything for the night), and was happy to revise things as needed. The staff were also great and helped set out decorations I had for the night as well, and were very kind serving drinks and food throughout the night. Absolutely everyone raved about the food, saying it was the best wedding food they'd ever had! My brother in law and I also agreed that the fries there are beyond amazing. The lights in the deck were absolutely beautiful on the dance floor as well. Would highly recommend the venue for anyone having an event!

I love checking out our local surf clubs and what they offer, and this one has a tick from me. While no water views, there are parkland views and lovely indoor/ outdoor area by which to enjoy it. This place alway copes well when plenty for lunch and usually are served quickly with their meals. They have daily lunch specials as well as their normal menu, have wheel chair and elevator access and amenities are kept clean and tidy. Tried a fish taco for the first time here and I’m hooked! Love them - lightly battered fish pieces with a salsa, chipotle style sauce and coriander - yum, Plenty to eat on this one! The calamari salad was also great, with large chunks and tender and lightly dressed salad. The gosh and chips was also a hit. Check it out!
