IN RESPONSE TO YOU. My God. HAVE YOU been to another reputable cafe anywhere even in other states perhaps? To give YOU context, and maybe why I find your "avo on toast" offensive, at over 50yo travelling and living in other parts of the country, including recent extensive travels dining out, I can assure you that your slice of bread with smash avo for $15 is as outrageous as it comes. It's ridiculous you even try convince me or anyone that your dish is valuable as is. Ok, I rarely have bad food experience but this needs a post. A random stop for food, the menu ok, coffee was reasonable, but COME ON. Avo on toast for $15 for a slice of bread with some smashed avocado, likely worth about $2? I know it's not intentional but it's offensive to be serving this. Do better. Fair to say never to return.

Ordered Calamari Burger and Calamari and chips value pack. And what I recieved was store bought frozen calamari instead of freshly crumbed calamari, almost thought they gave me onion rings by mistake. Chips were sad and burnt and only receieved a handful. Absolutely terrible in comparison to the past. Fresh fish and chips shouldnt be a hard thing to come by. When a restaurant lowers its standards to make money they are doing something wrong. But they've got embroidered uniforms now. Not sure why a cafe/takeaway would need such things. Picture for comparison from 4 months ago

Disappointing. Busy public holidays and only 2 young staff. Too busy chatting and not serving customers. Staff were clearly not up to the busy public holiday. If cafe owner don’t want to pay wages that’s fine. If they don’t want to provide enough staff then don’t open and offer bad service. Your only damaging your business. Definitely won’t come back. Just check out this for a steak sandwich. 2 tiny pieces of steak the size of a 20 cent piece and a 50 cent piece. Not toasted.

Where to start? We dined here for lunch, and there was a litany of issues our group experienced. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Burger, and requested the $4.99 chips and can of drink add-on. This add-on was openly advertised on a sign stuck to the register. It was also on the electronic boards behind the register. I was advised they aren’t offering that deal. I was bemused. I pointed out the sign at the register, but was told it wasn’t being offered. I then asked the server to take down the sign in that case. She advised only the owner could do that. I was tempted to remove it myself. After some additional back and forth, I reluctantly accepted that I wasn’t going to be provided with the $4.99 add-on.

The fifth person of 5 in our group then ordered. After ordering, he was advised they were no longer taking orders! Presumably as the kitchen was overwhelmed. He pointed out that the other 4 in our group had ordered, and we ordered 1 after the other and now he wouldn’t be able to eat with us. This line of argument was evidently not compelling and he ended up having to go next door to get some food.

Finally, the first person in our group patiently waited and watched as 3 of us received and ate our orders. After about 30 minutes he enquired where his burger was. At this point he learned that the order hadn’t been actioned by the kitchen. He requested and received a refund and ended up with a pie from next door instead.

We will never...

Very disappointed, we are from Sydney and the last time we bought food from this establishment 6 months ago, it was delicious. Tonight it was anything but. It took over twice as long to prepare as I was told it would, the burgers were not what was on the order or what was described on the menu, the chicken was overcooked and chewy. I was told after I paid that salmon was not available and had to be replaced with another fish. At this point all the other meals were made and that meant they sat another 10mins waiting for the fish burger to be made.. I should have been asked about the salmon burger before I paid. There were only 2 young staff there and they clearly had no customer service knowledge. The young girl did apologise and I appreciated that however perhaps some gesture of good will would have been appropriate, fresh batch of chips maybe as the ones we got were terrible and cold. To go through all of that wait and disruption it was then very disappointing to take it all home to then find that the food was nothing like we remember from our last visit. Very expensive for the poor...

I have just had lunch here with three other people, one who is a celiac. I chose Sanctuary cafe as it advertises to have plenty of options for gluten free food. The young waitress who took our order at the register was surly and totally disinterested in offering any explanation or options or even being polite. We ordered the fish and chips, and seafood for one, for two people, and a salad sandwich. The food was not enjoyable. The sandwich had stale bread and oddly tomato sauce on it. The crumbi

ng on the fish tasted burnt. We sat with our dirty dishes and unfinished food for an hour with no sign of the table being cleared even though the the restaurant was empty. How can a restaurant who has a mission statement so clear fail to deliver what is advertised. I am embarrassed I bought...
