I love The Giggling Goat Emporium. I often like to come here on a Saturday morning, have a coffee or two as well as breakfast. The coffee is good and so is the food. There is always a flurry of activity here. I have to admit that I have been coming for other reasons as well. On a Saturday a handsome man arrives. He has grey hair and a grey beard. Week by week his appearance drifts between an Antarctic explorer and a homeless person. He wears baggy clothes, but moves with such grace and control I am sure he used to be an athlete or a dancer. I can usually get a table within earshot and listen to him. I know his dog is called Jack and that he is a professional landlord. He tells tales of his overseas travels and how he helps the police with some of their cases (but only after being arrested). He sounds like an excellent skiier as he is probably even better on the slopes than Amal Clooney. My favourite overheard conversation occurred after he received a phone message from a lady in France. After replying he announced "I haven't heard from her since she gave me COVID."
So obviously I love coming to The Giggling Goat Emporium to watch out for my special grizzly explorer skiing man but you should come here and enjoy the coffee...
Read moreJust a short stroll from the beach, this charming cafĂ© is a true local favouriteâand itâs easy to see why. With a relaxed, coastal vibe and plenty of outdoor seating, itâs the perfect spot to grab a coffee and enjoy the salty breeze. Thereâs a real community feel here, with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere that extends to four-legged visitors tooâthereâs even a water bowl set out for dogs.
I ordered a coffee and it was absolutely spot onâsmooth, rich, and clearly made with care. Itâs the kind of cup that makes you pause and savour the moment, especially with the beach so close by. The cafĂ© seems to have a loyal following among locals, and itâs not hard to understand why.
One thing to keep in mind: they do close fairly early, so if youâre planning a visit, itâs best to swing by in the morning. Whether youâre on your way to the sand or just after a peaceful place to start your day, this cafĂ© offers that perfect blend of great coffee, good vibes, and coastal charm. Iâm already looking forward...
