Cheap and cheerful Renovations have been done and the rooms look modern and fresh, don’t let the outside appearance fool you, it’s a wonderful little hotel behind the bottle shop with very nice rooms, clean bathrooms and in general just nice overall! Free parking was a nice touch, big bays lots of room, heated pool is also available year round. It’s a really nice little hotel, easy to check in and check out, clean, comfortable beds, and a little cute balcony to stand on.

$20 for 5 wings…enough said. Go kings beach tavern and get half a kilo for the same price. Just updating to also advise that the kids area is completely trashed. Used to have some good video games to keep the kids happy but now just one more disappointment to add to what was once a great place to bring the family. Only 2 years ago there was half priced mondays with a thriving atmosphere, now it’s practically empty most nights.

Honestly very disappointed. Yes it's priced well, now I know why. Checked in all good, got to room and then Had to wait for it to get cleaned. Was told to go have a drink. 3pm an hour after check in. I Was told no smoking but the little court yard was covered with butts. Cobwebs and spiders in room. Bathroom ceiling had mould. The yukky bit was the skid marks still in the toilet bowl. Won't be back.

We arrived on time for our booking to find not a single staff member in sight to assist us. Many patrons were heading to the bistro bar however turned away because it was “too early until the bar opens”. Had to get our own menus, find our table finally greeted by the most passive aggressive shift manager it must’ve been. Our group all ordered through the app as there was scarce staff to be seen. When our meals were delivered the passive aggressive rude manager was the one to bring them to us. The meals were a slap job for what you pay regardless of cost of living a pub meal doesn’t need to look like a thrown together bin chicken dish. Our plates were never cleared so we had to pile them ourselves and move them down along the table as we were wanting to be able to proceed with doing the birthday cake. We were told staff would light the candles our table provided with the cake and bring it all out no issue. No the staff member rudely and abruptly brought it out in the bag it was brought in and dumped it on the table in front of the little girl who’s birthday it was. How incredibly petty and disgusting do your staff want to be? To say you will do something and then not only not do it but essentially punish a child whilst at it? We had to quickly explain to the little birthday girl not to worry it would be sorted. If you’re not going to provide a service that’s fine but say so when asked, don’t lie, what did your staff gain from that? The foul aftertaste of how your shift or venue manager whom ever she was a long brunette haired woman in her 30s plus sized. The man who dumped the cake off to us of Asian or pacific decent with tattoos. Those two could do are an incredible disservice and damage to your business. I’ve never experienced such a rudeness like we did from the women in particular....

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with this hotel. The room itself was average at best for the price, which I could have tolerated, but the real problem was the lack of basic customer service.

I accidentally left three boxes of personal belongings at the hotel and attempted to arrange for their return. Despite multiple calls, no one at reception ever answered the phone. My email inquiry took almost a week to receive a reply. When I requested that the items be consolidated into one smaller box and sent to me at my expense, I was told, “The boxes will not fit inside each other.”

I clarified my request, asking that the contents simply be transferred into one box. After more than 10 days of back-and-forth, I was then advised to send a prepaid bag with my address, meaning further delays of at least two more weeks. What should have been a 1-2 day task was being dragged out into a multi-week ordeal. That’s not “policy,” that’s laziness or disregard.

A simple request was needlessly complicated, leaving the entire process prolonged and frustrating. This shows the hotel’s unwillingness to provide even the most basic level of assistance and a clear disregard for customer care.

I specifically note the poor handling of the matter by Rachel Ives, the accommodation manager, whose approach was unhelpful and dismissive. Overall, the inability to accommodate such a simple request was both disappointing and...

Edit 19/12/202: Just had another one night stay for work and had to up the star rating for the rooms which have received a reno and are now nicely appointed, fresh and very comfortable. Also, this time the steak in the bistro was spot on. Ordered medium rare and got medium rare and it was a delicious cut, with great chips and a very fresh salad. Finally, the staff are brilliant as always and continue to make me feel welcome and part of their local family, even if just for the one night.

Stayed here recently for two nights; a return visit having stayed here before. The room was basic but clean and the food in the bistro was enjoyable. My only beef (pardon the pun) is that the chef's interpretation of how to do a steak always seems to be one setting more well-done than I think is right, so next time will remember to ask for rare in order to get a medium rare. The best thing about this place is the staff. On this trip, I made the dumb mistake of booking the wrong dates (a week later) and of course was a busy week but the two lads on the reception desk bent over backwards to organise a room for me. Best of all, they didn't make me feel in the least bit stupid (even though I really had been) which I rated highly. Staff in the bar and bistro were also excellent even when it was pretty busy for Thursday night...
