Our favorite cafe in Yandina for years. They used to have a sweet little kids’ nook… nothing fancy, but enough to make it a place we returned to over and over. Personally, I’ve easily spent WELL into the four-digit range there over the years because of that kids’ corner. And I know I’m not the only one. The chatter among parents about “where can we go with a play area?” is constant.

When I asked staff what happened, I was told, “kids were putting holes in the wall and parents weren’t watching them.” Sure, that makes sense… the nook was pretty makeshift. But also, kids are kids. Accidents happen. The thousands I’ve spent there because of that room should cover it? The solution shouldn’t be to erase the space entirely, but to adapt the environment so it works for families and the business. It was a hard nook to supervise and they chose to only place one giant table in front of the visable area, often taken up by people without children 🤦🏽‍♀️ It WAS family-centric. And family-centric businesses are so rare… the kind of place that genuinely appeals to both adults and children. And businesses know that when we find them, we spend big. You only need to look at the success of Terella Brewing. This is a business that truly knows the value of making a venue family-centric.

The problem is many places claim to be family-friendly, but don’t actually like the inconvenience that children bring. If your business benefits from families, then design your space to truly welcome them. Adapt the environment for how it will actually be used, and respect the little people who might not carry the credit card — but are the very reason their parents are spending money with you. Patch the walls, make the space cool. Install a camera so we can watch our kids from more angles. Work with us so we keep...

Went there on Father's Day, so we were expecting it to be busy, and we were told there was about half an hour wait for food orders, which we were ok with, however after nearly an hour wait we asked about our food, especially as others who arrived after us had beeb served. The waitress went to check and came back and said they had missed our docket, but the food would be ready in 5 minutes. She did offer a free drink for us all if we wanted one, so it was handled ok. It was another 15 minutes before all 4 of us had got our food. Now my review is specific to my food, not what the others had, as theirs was OK. My burger came on its own on a plate, with nothing else, besides some cold, greasy, overcooked onion rings. I had ordered the $6 side order of chips, as the burger clearly came without anything else. When they came it was half a bowl of the dregs of the deep fat fryer. Overcooked, rock hard "chips". Given we had waited so long and it was getting close to them closing, I suspect they couldn't be bothered to cook a fresh batch and I was given what was left......$6!!! When asked if everything was OK, I told the waitress that it was distinctly under average and explained why. She apologised and thanked us for the feedback and offered dessert for free. So again it was handled well, so no complaints about the staff, just the poor...

Right in front of the station sits this spacious café that’s hard to miss and even harder to resist. The layout is thoughtfully designed, with plenty of room to settle in and a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it easy to relax as soon as you step inside.

The service here is truly outstanding – staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and there’s a genuine kindness in the way they look after their guests. When we visited with our dog, they were more than accommodating, and we were able to enjoy our coffee comfortably at one of the outdoor tables.

Speaking of coffee, it was excellent – smooth, rich, and prepared with real care. It’s the kind of brew that feels just right whether you’re starting your morning or taking a mid-day pause.

With its prime location, great service, and dog-friendly seating, this café makes a fantastic stop for commuters, locals, or anyone passing through the area. It’s one of those places that blends convenience with quality, which is exactly why it leaves such a...

Easily the best spot in Yandina, worth making a longer drive into town to try it out! Staff on the till & floor were really friendly & positive. Unfortunately, I have to let Karen out for a little rant... I was really disappointed how the kitchen handled my small request. The extra bacon I ordered came out soggy. I positioned it on a separate plate (un-touched) & the staff were happy to return it to the kitchen to "Crispin it up" (as requested). After a short minute, the bacon then made it's way back to my table with the floor staff giving me the disappointing news that the chefs would not "Crispin it up"! I was advised to requested "crispy bacon" at the till if it was my preference. I then said to my wait staff, if it can't be changed, then she could take it away for me...obviously by this point, the bacon was extra cold and soggy. Pretty sad let down by kitchen staff here in my opinion.
