Well, tonight we visited this place and make some noise. Grabbed some chips, fish, calamari, prawns etc but we added rice on top + spicy sauce as usual cus we r indonesians. Okay, Well lets talk about products, fish( seafood) you can taste it fresh no stringy cus they clean it properly. Well cook and u can add some tartar sauce or chilly sauce , the best 👍. Price ? Pretty much affordable. Staffs? Friendly young crews over there and the chef as well. Location? Main road, easy access for parking if u wanna take away or dine in. Lots of variations of seafood u can choose, give them buzz n collect ur order. I defo recommend this Hook’d if u wanna get nice fresh fish n chip around Mooloolaba “ Brisbane Road “. Bring ur chips to the beach and enjoy sunset or chill. Well if u ever drive pass, give a go. Terima Kasih 🙏🏽

The absurdity of this experience has motivated me to create a Google account to review this establishment as I eat a burnt, yet under cooked potato scallop. With a combined age of 45 (seemingly), the three girls working here had a level of urgency matched only by the frail and elderly at a care home. Reassurances that the wait time would only be another 5 mins began to become frustrating after the third time. With a wait time of 40 mins from time of transaction to food in my hands. It a rare skill to be able to burn something yet serve undercooked; a feat accomplished by their potato scallops. The chips, although soft and rubbery were in fact just edible. The fish, flavorless but cooked was perhaps the only saving grace. I’m not saying don’t go here, but, you know… don’t.

I was greeted rudely and he was short with us when we were ordering and asking questions, but when we came back to collect the food he was very nice and we got a free water for a big order. The food was really good par the potato cake. Overall not bad but the rude greeting made it hard to enjoy the rest. Edit: all good I hope he's okay, I understand how hard that can be, no need to appologise

Oh, where do I begin with Hookd on Seafood? My recent take-away experience was nothing short of a maritime disaster. The ambiance felt like a sinking ship, desperately clinging to its last plank.

Let's talk about the service—or lack thereof. It was as if the staff had collectively decided to play hide and seek, with the customers being the unwilling seekers. The wait for our food felt longer than a deep-sea expedition, and when it finally arrived, it tasted like it had been caught during the last ice age.

The menu boasted a variety of seafood options, but what we received seemed like a sad attempt at culinary creativity gone wrong. The fish was as dry as the Sahara, and the shrimp were so overcooked that I could have used them as paperweights.

And don't even get me started on the prices. I've had more satisfying seafood experiences at a fast-food joint for a fraction of the cost. It's almost as if Hookd on Seafood is trying to see how much they can charge for a plate of disappointment.

In summary, save your taste buds and your wallet. Hookd on Seafood may claim to be a seafood haven, but in reality, it's more like a sinking ship of culinary nightmares. I wouldn't recommend this place to my...

I went there on Saturday 20 Jan 2024. I would say its the worst takeaway that I have been too. Three young people of no more than 18 years old working in the shop. None of them had a clue what they were doing. I had to wait 40 mins for 2 pieces of fish, a hamburger and fries. I had to repeat my hamburger request of just the patty, cheese and tomato sauce 4 times. One girl said the burger would be ready in 2 mins which turned out to be 25 mins. The burger then had mayo on it which I advised 4 times not to put on. So the burger had to be restarted. The young guy was not using gloves and touched the fish with his hands. I advised him that this is a hygiene issue. I also found a number of hairs when I got home and eat the meal. Whoever owns this business needs to train these 3 people in food processing procedures and hygiene. They did not know what they were cooking as they did not keep a copy of the order. Several people were asked what there order was and they receive the wrong food. Seriously, this is a business waiting...

The guy was not very friendly and he seemed inpatient with us because we didn't realise it wasn't standard fish and chips being from out of town. We were initially confused there was no flake etc and he was quite abrubt and a bit rigid with the menu where as most fish and chip shops let you add or remove what you want in burgers etc. However the food was good. I had the fish burger with crumbed fish and it seemed healthier and less greasy than other fish burgers, the hoki fish which i had never had before was amazing. My family got the whiting and loved it. They said the scalloped potatoes (potatoes cakes) could have been cooked more but we're good too. We had tried a few fish and chip shops while traveling and this one with its unique menu was the best. He also gave us a free drink spending over 50$...
