For starters bar service was okay, moving into the dining room, decor is dainty very old fashioned boring and lacked anything close to vibrant, the menu was basic and boring, the food was absolutely atrocious my wife had ordered a hot chicken schnitzel with gravy and vegetables, chicken was under cooked and vegetables were rotten and have obviously been frozen then re heated in the microwave, bland and tasteless, onto my own meal I asked for the chicken parmigiana with chips and salad, chicken was not cooked and was pushed under the grill to melt that cheese and that’s as far as it was cooked, chips were freeze dried and soggy, my Diane gravy had been frozen and then heated in a microwave, that salad have rotten rocket and no dressing and bland, the overall meals were a disgrace that it was served to paying customers, it’s as though the cooks just want to get everything out as quick as possible without any care for the food or customers. There wasn't too much to choose from on the menu at that stage and we were advised by the staff that the menu was changing shortly and would include steak as an option. On this visit the menu had changed however it was worse than it was before, and there was no steak option. Have you ever constantly looked at a menu trying to find something to order and nothing stands out or grabs you? That's what the new menu is like. We decided to stick with something we knew and ordered garlic bread for as an entrée and fish as the mains. The entrée came out after our mains had been served (approx. 5 minutes after). Read moreI was attending a family celebration at the bowls club on a Saturday night. We ordered 7 pizzas in total across 3 dockets as well as a cheesy garlic bread, but only received part of the order and were initially told the kitchen was closed so couldn't be made. They eventually agreed to make them as the majority of the party were kids and teens. Ordering a drink from the bar took ages with what appeared to be only 2 girls manning it.
I believe management should seriously consider having more staff. You could tell the staff there were doing their best, but looked really tired and a little stressed. They just needed a couple extra people to lighten the load. I realise venues are doing it tough post-lockdown and the reply is normally "we can't afford more staff", but ask yourself how many food and drink dollars are you missing out on because people can't/won't wait? How long can you afford NOT to hire...
