I've recently taken to eating burgers with utensils. I'm too old for this wiping-the-elbows business. I love a juicy, saucy burger as much as the next guy. I don't love needing a napkin every bite. We have the technology, I'm choosing to make use of it. Chicken burgers are so often dry and underseasoned. Not this one. This one is succulent and bursting with flavours of grilled fowl. The coffee is fine, though the vanilla syrup doesn't really come through in my iced vanilla latte on oat (don't judge me, it's better for my skin). I feel like they're skimping on the vanilla pumps. Gimme them 2 quick spurts of vanilla BLAP-BLAP. Maybe they already do and its just weak vanilla. The inside smells of salt air and roasted beans. I saw a group of friends playing cards at their table. Seems like a real Central Perk situation they had going on. High on it. Not sure if the cards were BYO, but a cool move if they were. Bring a deck of playing cards to coffee, CBTM.

Milk & Beans has easily the best açai bowls on the sunny coast. They are amazing and I will miss them when I’m not here anymore! The best part about them is they prepare the açai by putting it still-frozen through a soft-serve machine, which makes it stay nice and cold and frozen and not melt all over the place (like everyone else’s açai bowls do because they leave the açai out to thaw before making the bowl).

Chicken & avocado sourdough toastie was terrible. Extremely dry, the chicken was cooked the day before and heated in the microwave. The aioli was barely noticed and they didn’t even put the bacon I added inside the toastie. Pick up your game please. You get one chance with your customers to make a good impression and we won’t be making the same mistake twice

My mum and myself came to the Sunshine Coast for the week for a holiday. This is our first time staying in the Sunny coast and we had a voucher for the Milk and beans coffee house down the road from where we were staying. The first red flag was when ordering tea at the counter and the lady asked if we would like to have one pot to share with the two of us? If we pay for two $5 teas we want two pots of tea? The second was when my mum asked for a hard poached egg with her meal. When we sat at the table it wasn't long before we noticed all other customers who came after us getting their teas/coffees and meals. Finally after 20 minutes we got our food but no teas. mind you the Cafe was not busy. When my mum received her meal the egg was very runny. She went to ask for a hard egg, giving them the benefit of the doubt she gave her plate back and asked for a hard egg, also asked for the tea. The lady behind the counter seemed confused with our tea order, didn't say anything and started making the teas. They brought out the tea and the plate of food with yet again, another runny egg! When my mum asked again if they could harden the egg they took the egg off the plate and she ate her meal without the egg. We were sitting at the table for about 15 minutes waiting for this hard egg. By the end we were just fed up and asked for a full refund of the meal which they gave us and didn't really care about how upset we were. I do not recommend this place! Very disappointing...

I’ve eaten at milk and beans multiple times on the weekend and during the quiet periods, and when it is busy they always slip up. This morning came in with my mum. I ordered bacon and eggs and iced mocha, my mum ordered cappuccino and toasted bacon and egg sandwich. We explicitly said dine in. Both coffees were bought out in takeaway cups, when you dine in, the experience is meant to be DINE IN. The toasted sandwich came out on a plate, waited upwards of 15 minutes for the bacon eggs, which is fine but went up to ask, normally two meals for a table come out together. They had my bacon and eggs on the bench in a takeaway box. Went and sat down, due to anxiety it takes a lot for me to speak up, I also know how hard hospitality is, but I’m paying for a service and didn’t get that. When I was up there she asked if I wanted a plate, after I gave the box back it came out two minutes later. I could tell it had been zapped in the microwave. The hash brown was not fluffy, it was flat and tough, sausages were lukewarm and tough as well, toast was so tough and the eggs turned into even more of an omelette, like they were before, overall not a pleasant experience. When they are quiet the food is amazing, but they do not keep that consistent quality. Don’t know if the mistake was made in foh or the kitchen, but it needs to be sorted, there obviously needs to be a higher level of supervision, because the level of service is very poorly. Won’t be...

My friends and I recently went to the business expecting to have a really nice breakfast before heading to the beach. It wasn't too busy in the mid-morning as well which was nice. We had organised our meals at the counter and patiently waited for them, however we waited up to 45 minutes and still nothing came out to us. I watched other customers come in, order their meals and get their meals first before us which was when I decided to head to the counter and ask when our meals were coming out. Apparently they were forgotten about and we were a little disappointed about this, considering there was staff walking around who didn't check on us to see if we were okay or weren't too concerned about us during that 45 minute wait. We were also at the table close to the counter so we were in full view. The staff apologised which we accepted and said they would organise our food within 5 minutes, which we did however wait another 15 minutes for. We were also given complimentary coffee cards which was considerate, but since we were not locals they were useless to us. The meal was good, but not worth a full hour wait for. We managed to get to the beach eventually. I recommend next time to provide a little more table and customer face-to-face service (don't need to organise ordering at the tables of-course) to ensure all patrons are well looked after. We don't plan on returning to the business...
