Good beer, awful food. Which is super disappointing when so many breweries have nailed their food options. Things we had: 1. Chips $10. Skin on potato chips with aoili. Not over salted, good chips. Maybe a tad exxy, but big serve. Highlight of the meal. 2. Wings $16. Only one flavour available, no buffalo. Well cooked, could have used more sauce or a dipping sauce. Better than the other protein dishes. 3. Cauliflower Steak. $18. Very small sad serve of cauliflower. Not really a steak, 5 florets with sauce. Surprisingly good sauce and pomegranates pairing but really not $18 worth. 4. Fish tacos. $18. Vietnamese style tacos. Odd combo because Viet food is normally light and zesty. The deep fried (very small) fish and soft shell tacos take away from this and you're left pining for a spicy Mayo or more fish, or just more flavour. It's just rice noodle and no spice. 5. Crispy pork belly. $24. The worst dish of the night. I once had a year 10 home ec pork belly that was better. Skin was gelatinous, not even close to crispy. One quarter meat was burnt and black. The texture overall was like paste. I guess the potato was OK. I've never been sadder Overall, I'd come back to drink, I'd eat next door.

Besides Moffat Beach Brewing Co, there are also several cafes and restaurants located along Seaview Terrace, including Cafe by the Beach, the Fish Bowl and the Pocket Espresso Bar. After browsing through the menu, we settled on the Broccolini, Chicken Schnitzel and the Fish of the Day… Inclusive of the beers, the total cost came up to $81.7 – good for three to share. For us, Broccolini was definitely the dish that stood out. The presentation was unique and the labne dip – a yogurt cheese, somehow suited the besan (chickpea flour) battered broccolini. As the sun set, dark clouds gathered and soon it started to POUR! Even with the blinds drawn, we could still feel slight splatter of rain. Then a miracle happened, after we decided that the rain was light enough for us to walk back to our accommodation, the rain stopped! Thank the Lord! 🙂 Thereafter, we were able to walk back (albeit briskly) without any drop of rain at all! For more details, visit 2bearbear today!

Called ahead as my partner had severe allergies to see the food menu as it wasn’t displayed online. Girl on the phone wasn’t able to show me or tell me about the food menu and that I should just come down and find out. Not at all helpful if we aren’t able to eat there. Yet I took the leap, ginger beer and session ale were average. Customer service atrocious. Different girl to the phone was serving at the bar. Miserable. No hospitality at all. Warm glasses. Saving grace was the food; panzanElla salad was fantastic and brisket and fish tacos to die for! Gentleman in the kitchen was great, made and served our food.

Yesterday I was there with a group of friends for lunch. It is very unfortunate how our lunch experience was.

To begin with they didn’t allow us do take away which is very strange and inconvenient nowadays. As we had 3 vegan people and they do not have any vegan options in the menu, they had to grab something from somewhere else. They came back with their food with the original plan to go and have our meals at the park to find out none of the other businesses were serving take away food. So the non-vegans ordered their meals at this place and we all sat down, vegans included.

A few minutes after, a very rude waitress approached us stating the vegans couldn’t have their food here. We explained our situation: no vegan meals, no take away allowed. We just wanted to have our lunch altogether. Pretty much she said I will no let you take your food from here and you can’t eat that other food here. So with that attitude she kicked out our friends from the venue. Who would want to stay under those conditions? Stay but don’t eat or leave.

Very very poor service. We’re in 2021. Considering there is a huge amount of people with different dietary requirements, the least you can do if you can’t provide for them is to be flexible and not divide and discriminate.

It’s a shame because their beer is really good but the service is far from welcoming and...

Worst experience. Staff were exceptionally rude for no reason. We’d driven all the way from Brisbane to try a new brewery, we were met with appalling service. When we approached the bar my partner asked for a beer recommendation by asking the bar tender what his favourite beer was. The bar tender replied something rude about “why does everyone ask that?” in a frustrated tone. Skip to 10 minutes later, my partner accidentally knocked a stool over with his knee, the tables were very crowded and I asked him to shuffle over. He instantly leant over and picked up the stool. Little did we know, a second stool had also fallen over on the other side of the table (out of sight from where we were sitting). We went on chatting until a waitress came over and rudely said “did you guys seriously kick over that stool and not pick it up?! Not cool guys!”. She proceeded to walk around glaring at our table until we promptly finished our drink and left in search of a more hospitable establishment. This seems to be a common occurrence judging by other reviews. The location and beer were nice, however, the rude “go eff yourself” attitude of the staff means we will never return. Having worked for in hospitality for 7 years, I know this behaviour is...

I sent this message to the restaurant via the website, but go no recognition so... We have been to the restaurant a few times, taking with us several visitors. We enjoy trying the beers you offer. Unfortunately, your food menu has a problem. There are no vegan/vegetarian dishes available. This leaves the salads as the only option. This is the second time we went to the restaurant to eat. Last time, I had the green bean and beetroot salad, which is fairly good, even though it is a little expensive (given that it is mainly leaves). Over these holidays, we took some Melbourne people (none of them vegans) to the restaurant and, in general, they were happy enough. I, however, was not. I ordered the pumpkin salad. Imagine my horror when I was served a dish that makes a French entre look like a smorgasbord. It was less than measly; it was stingy and extremely over-priced. It was, at best, a side salad. When there are zero vegan/vegetarian dishes, the salads should be at least a meal, not a leaf short of garnish. The restaurant apparently thinks this is OK. If you believe the price of the ingredients validate the extortive price, then you need to rethink that. As a patron of the establishment, I would expect more...
