Off Tap Tapas Marcoola — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

Food: Went for a quick dinner meal with wife. We had not been there before. The food was what you'd expect of Tapas type food: Nothing bad. I enjoyed it. Wife thought there was too much sauce on the pork belly, but that is just a matter of preference.

Service: I rated 2 stars because prior to paying, the EFTPOS system requires you to pay a tip BEFORE paying for food, which seems counter productive if you aren't a regular and haven't experienced a place before. We chose No Tip, and then the consquence was the service girls attitude noticeably changed toward us for the worse. This opens a can of worms of how management uses tips in their service, and why staff would be physically upset if none was given. Tips should generally always be offered after service, not before.

Atmosphere: There was a Welsh performer there named Si Tom playing music, who was pleasant and friendly. The star rating is raised by 1 star...

We were lucky to stumble in on Sunday evening - we would have missed a treat if we'd decided to leave it for another night. (Friday, Saturday and Sunday only at the time of writing this review.) Great service, wonderful singer/guitarist. We sat inside but people were enjoying the new terrace area. Really enjoyed our mojitos. Hubby had the chicken parma (very fresh and delicious!) I had the spring rolls - super tasty. Would recommend book ahead if you're vegan - delicious food but by Sunday night, because it's all fresh, the choice is a bit limited. The chef offered to make some vegan tacos but I was very happy with the spring rolls and some coleslaw. The owner stopped for a chat - obviously loves his work! I'm going to say this place is worth the drive...

I have literally found my new favourite place to eat and drink on the sunshine coast! If I could give 10 stars I would! The staff were friendly and had a great attitude. The food came out quickly and was incredible.. Aranchini balls, calamari, Chicken wings! You won’t be disappointed! We also ordered the whiting tacos, and I’m definitely not a fish person, but damn!! They were super tasty! There was live music on the Saturday night I went there and he shredded! Couldn’t have had a better experience!

Get down and visit Damo and the crew for a memorable night out with fantastic food and drinks AND support a great local business!

I also forgot to put, the prices for booze are on point!! Sailor Jerry for $9?...
